Had problems tuning my OS 91 Cspec and noticed that fuel was pouring out of the pump. The manual says not to make any adjustments on the pump so I sent the engine in. They sent it back and when I went to crank it it was still pouring fuel out of the pump. This time I sent just the pump back and they sent it back stating that they had replaced the pump. I went to install it today and noticed that the screw on the bottom of the pump is backed way out. It is loose and could be easily turned by just using fingers. The manual says not to adjust it but I can not believe that it should be left as far out as it is. Any suggestions other than waiting until Monday and calling the service center.

If I agreed with you, We would both be wrong!

buy a YS.

Service from Greatplanes importer of OS has been very poor lately. Actually what we wound up doing is ordering the regular backplate and taking off the pump completely.

Of course, thats in general contrast to the overall
unavailability of YS engines and parts in the USA

Better yet, I would box the engine up and send it back to Hobby Service and ask them to send you an SZ engine. You have a lot better chance of making that work than the pumped engine that you currently have.

Z is right, PS stands for POS.

Replace the pump?
would simply replacing the pump with a solid backplate not effect anything else with the engine?

Send the whole thing back and get an SZ. If you take the pump off you will need to replace the carb because it is a pump carb and won't work on suction.

Serves GP right for importing this stuff after all of the complaints.
