If anyone has hacked the Blade CP to use the DX6 Tx I,d like to get the wiring diagram and the Tx programming. Thanks. Jerry

I don't think it would be a hack, but rather just take out the 4 in 1 and move to separates and using the DX6's RX.

Totally different technology radio wise.

DX 6
The way I understand it, you can keep the gyro part of the Blade CP, it just pulls away from the Rcvr, and the servo's. I think all that has to be done is tie the DX6 Rcvr into the Blade gyro, hook up the existing servo's, plug in the main and tail rotor, and program the radio. My problem is I'm not sure how to do any of the above mentioned items. Jerry

Jerry,
Check out this thread. About 10 posts or so down I posted some pictures and instructions. Read through the entire thread and it will probably answer most of your questions. Be sure and identify which channels are the throttle and rudder as the instructions are for the stock Tx or Futaba. As an example I believe the throttle is channel 1 on the DX. They appear to follow standard JR protocol.

DX Hack
Thanks Gary, That's what I thought. I wasn't sure what pins were (-) you answered that for me. Now, a couple more questions.
1. I assume the rotor motor and tail motor still plug into the side of the gyro just like original.
2. The DX6 Rcvr has a place that say's BAT. I assume that's not used.
3. The DX6 Rcvr has these inputs BAT, THR, AILE, RUD, GER, AND AUX. The THR and RUD must be for the Main motor and Tail motor. Since the Blade CP has three servo's do you know where the third servo plugs into?

Thanks for all the help. Jerry

P.S. I'm sure I'll have more questions, just trying to learn.

Jerry,
The Battery connection is not used as the 4-in-1 will provide power for the Rx. Plug the servo in the front of the Heli into the ELE channel. Plug the other two into the AIL and AUX channels. Refer back to my other post for setup. Make sure and observe polarity with the servo extensions you use to avoid damaging any components. The end of the 4-in-1 case is the negative and the black or brown wire on the servo extension goes toward the end of the case.

DX6
Gary,
I got everything hooked up and all seems OK except the servo on the left rear (as I look from the tail end) moves when I increase throttle, it does not move when I input left or right yaw, just the right one moves. I have not set up the radio yet, would that make the difference? I really do appreciate your effort. It's getting better. Jerry

Jerry,
Radio setup is what makes it all work Go into the Tx menus and set up the 120 degree ccpm and then start with my procedure of servo reversing and swash mix ratios and it will work.

DX6
Gary,
I fineally got the CCPM set up, now it's just fine tuning the rest of the system. I did notice that now it's as if I'm in idle-up mode, like on the old Tx. I'mthinking I have to adjust the pitch curve. Thanks for all your help. Jerry

Hey! I got my Blade CP converted to DX6. Sooooooo sweet!!!

UberSimple. Unplug the reciever borad from the gyro/revomixer/speed control board and just make a simple harness using a 6 pin header that plugs into the rudder and throttle channel on the DX6.

CCPM was easy to set up.

Downside - I was going to turn the revo mixing pot on the 4 in 1 board all the way down and do the revo mixing in the transmitter but even with the revo mixing pot all the way off there is still some mixing going on. So I went ahead and adjusted it with the pot. Maybe I will revisit that later and see if I can do it all on the TX.

On the upside - I was able to program in ALOT more pitch and cyclic response. Even to the point where it is almost unflyable. I turned it back down and can fly the sweetest circuits with this little bird.

I can fly it out in front of my house and it just about stops traffic. Loads of fun again!

P.S. I do have the Hiller upgrade on the head but I cant say I can feel too much difference. I should have flown it before I upgraded the head. It was on the shelf for about 2 months before I took it down and made the upgrades.
