Hi,
I have a friend who is selling a Hirobo Dauphin for someone who never flown it and actually never got into the hobby after all this spending.
It is the yellow version and was only tested four flights(I was present at one of these). This was about two years ago. The set-up:
OS 60 WC, with upgraded delrin main gear, 9252 on metal swash, 401/9253 on tail, and retracts installed and working.

The head is the standard two blades, and of course if I go ahead with this project I will want to upgrade to the four blades one...

1-Now what is the story on this four blades head? Some are saying that they are very hard to fly and are unstable,...(I currently fly a Freya .90 and can do some mild 3D)

2-Will I absolutly have to install a governor with this four blades set-up?
3-Is the Hirobo Fenestron system reliable and effective?
4-The OS 60 WC is it powerful enough? (I have seen a couple for sale and they have a .90)
5-Best place for a Canadian to get parts? (The kit is missing the two main doors...)

All advice and comments are more than welcome, I am not experienced with scale and know that it can come very expensive. If I go ahead I will slowly bring her to a higher level scale/details wise than she is now,but at the same time a very important point to me is reliabilty and parts availability.

Many thanks for reading me.

hey MIke!
the hirobo dauphin is a fine machine and a great project to get.
the four bladed head wont need a govonor any more than a two bladed head would. it is all in the setup of pitch and throttle curves. it wont be a badf idea of course abd being a 3d'er, you probably know how to set up a gov really well. i recomend flying it with the two bladed flybarred head first to get uised to the machine and get things feeling great before adding a gov and a four blade head. the multibladed heads arent hard to fly, just different. in the hover you probably wont tell any difference but in fwd flight you'd notice a little difference. the hirobo head flies great with the hirobo blades or you can go with century's heads or starwood models carries the OF brand of heads and blades. i will be trying the new heads from century soon.

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Thanks for the hints...
Best place you would recommend for buying parts, especially these two missing doors...What about upgrading the cockpit scale details, getting some cyclic and collective arms, wipers etc...Anybody sell those or people make them?

Thanks again

try Jeff Green
he should be able to help source the parts from Hirobo.

See Vario's product listings for scale appointments.

just keep that head speed up! ive seen a guy at our feild with a dauphin with a 4 bladed head powered by an os 60. Engine decided to stall about 50 feet up and the head speed was so low that the blades just folded and down she went. To add injury to insult she smacked nose first into the paved runway...total loss.I dont think he was running a gov though, so that probably would have helped keep the rpm's up.

The 5 ?'s...
Does it fly? How fast? How High? How far? How much
