I'm getting pretty bad cut outs at top stick, say if i go for a punch out the motor will cut bad for a second then kick in. It manages to get some climb in but the cut out is making it hell to fly, getting used to auto's fairly quickly though.
Could the ESC be rated to low for motor, or is it most likly something else ?

Check your top end pitch and dial it down if it is over 10 1/2* - 11*. If you are pulling too much pitch it would draw too much current which may cause the speed controller to shut down the motor momentarilary.

hi Matt,

i had the same problem would hover a full flight but as soon as i started to use more collective in fast forward flight it cut out i was using the yellow plastic blades that came with the kit and was guessing the pitch at the time as my other pitch gauge was too big.i had ajusted some of the throttle points quite low to get a constant head speed of 2400 rpm i also had the low voltage cut of set wrong at 70%.after the cut out i had which caused a crash,i bought a a micro pitch gauge and checked the pitch it was around 10 deg which is too much for the standard yellow blades and they never seem to stay in track so i put the wood blades on that came with the kit left pitch at 10 deg increased throttle curve to 100 90 100(using 25amp esc no gov mode) and put in a pcm rx and set the low voltage cut off on esc to 60% and bought a lipo alarm its been flying great since with no problems (10-15 flights since).hope this helps.
