When i turn my 9xii tx off i get i line going across the lcd screen,the possition of the line varies.this is a very thin line and it appears when all the text has gone and is there briefly.just wondered if this was normal.

Mine does the same , so does my fathers 9XII and my original 9X .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I've seen lots of monochrome LCD panels do things like that.

the 9Z does similar things during powerup

It's due to cutting down power from display before the display internal circuitry is turned off by SW. Very normal phenomena with gadgets designed by amateurs... Radio manufactures have not bothered to fix the issue as it's easier just to cut power Anyway it's not harmful, only visually ugly.

Very propably during power up it's due to residual currents left with previous incorrect shutdown... Or providing voltage to display module while module's reset is not active. Amateur problem which could have easily been avoided with correct design

Mine does to but I have always thought it was endearing - like a wave goodbye. I used to think the beeping when turned on with IU1 or 2 selected was a nuisance, but after nearly burning my clutch out by starting in IU2 I now appreciate it!
