Questions from a newbie !
#1 Soft start ?
#2 I have a SE with a GY240 gyro and HiTec HS-55,
the servos up front move and respond quick, but the
tail servo move very slow with stick movement,
despite this it hovers fairly well ? (FF will come later).
#3 this a new build, and I have never augered it into the ground (think the gods)
but the main shaft has some walble to it. Is this normal ?
#4 with no regularity, rime or reason my SE will just lose all power !!
and then come rite back, some mite call it a glitch, but it’s just
loss of power ?

thank you for any info

#3 Take the shaft out completely and roll it on a known flat surface and see if it rolls true. I had never crashed or landed my SE hard but saw a slight wobble. Shaft was bent.

#4... welcome to the world of SE FM receiver... possibly electron 6?

soft or softest start either will work.
what servo are you talking about elevator or rudder.?
you should have no play in the main shaft explain what you are doing to make it wobble.?

First what is the meaning of “soft start”
And as far as walble, all I do is spin it up
and it's the rudder

Soft start spins the rotors up slowing. Some use it and some don't. I prefer it.

What you are talking about is a WAG not a wobble. Reduce the gain on your gyro and see if it helps.

#2 is something binding in the tail? Servos slow down if they're working harder. Disconnect the linkage (obviously on the bench...) and see if the servo respond normally then. Also try moving the linkage by hand to see if its binding.

soft start; how hard the motor starts when you bring up the throttle.
if the main shaft is not bent you have a balance problem.
check and make sure all of your end points are all 100 first.

Soft start sounds GREAT ! I move the stick up and I always have to give it a little stick to correct the heading before I lift off the ground, how I get soft start in my bird.

You need to put it away and get some live help. If you don't hook up with finless I'm in Seal Beach and available tomorrow.

Scamp62 make sure the DELAY pot adjustment on your gyro is set to ZERO....
No he's not yanking your chain, just thinking of a different gyro. Other Futaba Gyros (like the 401) do have a pot marked "delay", it's used to help adjust the gyro response to different speed servos.

Your GY240 doesn't have it.

Does the servo still move slowly if connected directly to the receiver bypassing the gyro? If so it may just be a problem with the servo- it does happen even with new servos...

o.k. I disconnected the servo from the gyro and the plugged the servo directly in to the Rx (same slot) and the servo works just fine, quick and responsive……..
is there an adjustment in the GY240 ?
