I'm building my new Raptor 90 SE and I'm not sure about the best gear ratio and headspeed.
The engine is an OS91 PS, I'm thinking to use TT 710 or V Blades 690.
The muffler is a hatori 17.

Any suggestions ?
I already installed the 11 pinion. Is 8:45 a valid option ?

Someone at my field suggested a ratio of 8.27 for the c-spec engine.

The OS doesn't care for a ratio of 8.45 too well (so I hear). Most people say it's happier at 8.27. If you have the 11 tooth then you have the right pinion, you will just need to change the main gear to a 91 tooth gear.

As for the main blades, unless your collective skills are perfect, then stay in the 680-690 range. With the shorter blades, it's a lot harder to bog the head down and be more forgiving when you stick bang. You will also have faster cyclic response with the shorter blades. Granted the 710's auto slightly better, but not much.

Use 8.27 gear ratio and 710 Radix blades. They are very efficient blades and have very quick cyclic response.

Very true, absolutely love the Radix blades on my R90, seem very efficient. I originally wanted the 690 radix blades, but I am glad they had sold out, and I ended up with the 710's

My head is rockin' at around 1920 rpm. The thing is a rocket and really fast cyclicly. I use the 91main gear, and 11 pinion on the os91sz-h.
