My daughter is now 2 1/2 years old, and she is definitely a "Garage Girl and a Daddy's Girl". She has been following me into the garage to work on my heli's since she was barley able to walk.

We get to share a huge amount of bench time on the helis and she knows the names of most of the tools and heli parts. I had never considered introducing her to the simulator for some reason? About two weeks ago, she approached me while I was on the sim, saying "Do it, Do it,Do it). She started out by just moving the stick around, but now she has figured out that they do control the heli. I wouldn't even say she hovers yet, but she clearly understands what the collective stick does and seems to be trying to tie in rudder control. I don't see any cyclic corrections yet, but she is only 2 1/2.

I keep my fingers crossed that she keeps with it and it will continue to be something we can share.

What a sweetie! God Bless!

I noticed from the photos that she has progressed from flying with thumbs to the ever-so-articulate style of thumb & forefinger!

Blake, how long do you think it will be before you're asking your daughter for flying tips?

Blake here comes the competition.
My love when she crashs. If she knew the cost in the real one. She will not no laughing so hard.

It kinda looks like we might end up with a little east/west coast competition thing going on in a few years. LOL. Don't worry, mine laughs just as hard at the crashes and yells "broke".

I think she is saying that I would be going "broke"! LOL

Thanks to everyone for the great comments! She does seem to be more of a pincher than a thumber.

I guess I should have put some more cloths on her, but it is the first thing she wants to do when she gets out of bed.

Blake:

She must be 3 1/4 or so now. Has she improved? Did you make a video of her flying?

Your right, she's 3 and 3 months now. She has made a little improvement on the simulator, but no great strides. We kind of slowed down on it a little, work and family got CRAZY this summer.

Her and I will get outside a few nights a week (per her demand) and fly a Blade CP. She uses the stock Blade Tx (with no batteries) and I stand behind her doing the actual flying with my 9303. I know it does nothing for gaining skills, but I think she is way to young to be try to skill her. She has a absolute blast doing it and the more time we share doing heli stuff, the more likely she will keep and grow her heli passion.

No vids yet, but maybe someday.
