MacMan

Nive to meet a supplier/distributor with a sense of humour!!!

surely it must frustrate you with the lack of spares and the lead time you have to wait to get parts and backup, ?

I know others like skyline owuld probably stock JR, but knowing BOB, he would not sell them because he likes to offer a full service ie have backup parts as well as the kits, but does not want to mortage his business buying a tonne of JR spares,

anyway this isnt a slag off of JR it is just a shame about a good brand that is let down at manufacturers end.

i will have to learn japanese swear words

it gets better in uk every day.

todays papers say if you have a camera phone your going to have to buy a TV licence to watch streaming video on it or face a £1000 fine.

if they could tax your $hit here they would have a monitor attached to the bog.

cheers

I think there will be some changes ahead for distributors in Europe. Due to EEc regs, a distributor in any part of the EEC is obliged to supply any shop within the EEC and cannot withold supply.

For example, a German shop can request supply from MacGregors and it would be against the law for them not to supply. UK shops can get whatever they want from where ever they want in Europe.

Regarding Horizon, why would they buy Macgregor when all they want is JR? That sounds like one of those deals where the buyer just keeps lowering the offer till the vendor sells

Now then Mac_Man you seem to be intimating that you sit between JR and the shops. So there is a level of markup that could be removed straight away. Just let the shops order direct!

Keeping with that train of thought have you seen that if you are a self-harmer they will give you clean blades and now you will be able to go to the supermarket to pick a kit to test if you have caught a sexually transmitted desease!

Yugdab,

I work for the Importer/Distributor, now as JR will only deal with Distributors who would you suggest gets the job ? Similarly on the Radio side, who is going to take on the responsibility for maintenance and repair ? Outsourcing to a 3rd party would only make it very expensive for any repairs !

An American manufacturer only has reps working on commission. The reps sell the product but the customer places the order with the manufacturer. There is no actual middle men holding stock which removes one lot of shipping and handling.

Oh, and as for radio repairs. I would say any competent electronics person could repair a radio. Most mechanics are capable of repairing any motor car!

LOL, some so called mechanics I wouldnt let near my car !!! Ditto for some of these so called techies !

That would be all well and good if we were the manufacturer, but seeing as the goods are coming from japan it wouldnt really work. Could you imagine JR shipping just a single flybar ?

As a manufacturer told me last week, he has had demands for engine cowls from individuals, the cost of the cowl? $1-50, cost of shipping this one cowl ? $25-00

So would you pay $26-50 for 1 cowl ? etc etc ??

many people are switching,i noticed that fastlad had a stratus for sale not long back, with the explanation that he was "changing direction" or changing brand one of the two.perhaps he could chip in and give us his thoughts on minature aircraft.

all comments are my opinion only!

I did ,but not for parts but a repair or should i say not repair.
When out flying, the display on my 10X just slowly disappeared. "I DIDN'T TOUCH ANYTHING: HONEST!." Packed it up and sent it to MacG.
Reply came , "Did you touch the contrast button". Aw S$$$. " I DIDN'T, HONEST!" . To be fair to MacG, they only charged me £6.00 to £8.00. Others would have charged £30.00 just for looking at it.
Cost £6.00 to check: £40.00 postage. AAaargh. Live and learn

I've also got to own up. I bought a Fury from Motors & Rotors. "I DID , I DID" All those shiny bits, I couldn't help myself. Still recovering. Doctors said I'll be OK!. but it will take another year to recover.

Unfortunately with the state of the Postal Services here in the UK, we have to take out insurance for the return journey.

I have just had to repair a 10X that was sent back to its owner after a minor repair. It came back to me in a sorry state. Estimated cost to bring it back to full decent state was about £80 + VAT etc.
