I'm not having any luck in removing the clutch shoes from my Tempest clutch assembly. I need to replace them after a Hot Start. I've tried using a butane torch to heat up any permament lock tite. Nothing will budge. What's the trick? Is there a special tool I should use/make? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Just to be sure, which way does it loosen? (CW or CCW).

I just did this:

you will need your fan tool, two 4mm short hex head screws, two 4mm lock nuts. Put the two screws and lock nuts through the slots in the fan tool and tighten them down. You will use the fan tool to remove the clutch from the driver by inserting the heads of the screws into the large holes in the face of the clutch and wrench the clutch off (lefty loosey). MA uses green loctite on this so you will need to use heat.
Hope this helps

Well, I do not have the fan tool (got the heli used), but I made something that does the same thing you suggested and just tried it...It worked!! Thanks for the inspiration! Any problems in just using blue locktight for the new shoes?

A small amount of blue works perfect.
