I just couldn't look at it sitting on the shelf any longer, I even think I heard it saying "please fly me"... I R&R'd every single screw and bolt, fresh loctite, fresh paint, new (old) rotor head, and several hours of general inspection and setup.

I have exactly one full set of spares... just can't seem to find a clear canopy cover.

The first chance I get to run out and do some hover checks and the wind is like 5 gusting to 15. Oh well, now or never...

Much better response with the new head than I remember with the stock head... still not as stable and forgiving as the Hawk, and WAY too small fuel tank. No where am I going to fit a header tank?

Now that it's flown again, it may just sit on the shelf for another 13 years. This was my first helicopter, a lot of fond memories re-kitting it over and over again.

Oh well, back to the garage. Another 8 hours of tinkering per 5 minutes of flight time.

I tried flying upside down once... but I couldn't take the blood rushing to my head.

Hope your heli is happy now

Looks like it's possible to create a new windscreen from a piece of flat transparent foil. Just bend it over the canopy, cut to size and fix it.

If I remember correctly... helicopter with engine was $350.00, JR X347 was around $300.00, Futaba 154 BB Rate Gyro $100.00 bucks or so?

I never counted repair dollars after that.

I have an old shattered one for a model, I just need to find a bottle that will work for it. The Enforcer windscreen has some sharp bends in it. Time to break out the heat gun I guess.

Nice property. Nice street you live on. I'm used to seeing snow on my driveway. Not Palm trees or something

Don't knock the Enforcer brand. I had several of these helis and an abundance of parts to go along with the helis. I only decided to change brands after hearing of Kalt's decision to sell and then find no place to get parts from.

These helis (ZR and original) were a sweet combination in design and function. I loved my Enforcers and often think how it would stand up against some of the most recent helis.

CWOAV8R, your second pic is making me homesick. I grew up in Naples WAAAAY back before they got a Burger King (I'm not kidding). Heck, you probably even arrested me once or twice. I know Naples has grown up since.

Todd Benett had an Enforcer.. I bought it from him before I knew who he was....it was all decked out well as much as you could do then. I like the metal head. I still have 2 of them and a drawer full of parts. I have a Kalt barons canopy on mine which is probably easier to find now days. Like mentioned earlier I use a on liter pop bottle to make my windshields.. good luck and have fun

Great to hear that someone has revived their Enforcer.

My primary helis is the ZR. I have "many' of them plus more parts than anyone else <G> Example, at one time I had 41 tail booms, down to 30 odd by now.

Glad to hear that Todd B. flew them. Gives me reason to practise flying backwards rolling circles with it. If you can't do a piro-flip with it, then, you can't do one with a larger heli.

As far as a canopy goes, you can use one from the Hawk/Falcon (old model). I just trim them to fit, not perfect, but very close.

Put it into a scale fuselage and you will be flying it around every weekend.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

Yea, I was thinking scale. That way I would tend to be much more careful with it. I'm definetly going to fly it either way...

Thanks, but not original. I saw a few clown fish helicopter canopys here on RR and just had to do one... I mean two... make it three. I can't get that paint scheme out of my head! My son said now that I have done Nemo I have to do Dory.
