i was hovering around in my basement yesterday trying to configure my new 401 gyro, and i could barely get the thing to take off except at low stick input. i took it upstairs and realized my collective servo wasn't traveling all the way up or down and it was basically stuck in full postive pitch. i came to the conclusion thats why the heli wouldn't take off, too much load on the motor because of pitch. i fixed the travel on the servo and i went to bed and woke up this morning with high hopes. i went downstairs, turned on my tx, turned on the switch for the speed control, let it the gyro arm, then pushed the arming button for the speed control and went to hit the up stick on the throttle and nothing happened with the motor. the collective was moving, all the servos work, but the motor wasn't running?

how can i see if maybe i fried my motor by running full pitch on accident yesterday or do you think it was my speed control that got fried? how can i test these things?

i even unscrewed the motor from the heli and tried it to see if i could get any kind of noise or anything from it and i got nothing?

here is my setup:

shogun v2
2200 lipo
electron 6 rx
futaba 7c tx
eflite maxx 25 speed control
stock 400 brushed motor
hs-56hb's all around
futaba 401 gyro
foam main blades

any ideas or suggestions would be great, thanks

if anything got damaged it would probably be your motor.

I made a mistake once (put a brushed speed controller on a brushless motor) - motor got totally fried cause it couldnt move, but the speed controller was 100% fine.

meh

Do you have another motor or speed controller to try?

motor problem
why dont you try the obvious, take the motor out, and hook it directly to the power source, that will tell you if the motor runs or not, whatever you do dont think for a minute that on the bench and adding collective that, that motor might not engage, that could get ugly, even a little t-rex,do the obvious first.

yeah i tried another motor and it worked, but it sounded like at half speed, so i went out today and bought another speed controller, same thing happened, the blades spin up now, but only at half throttle it sounds like, not matter what the position of the trims, curves, sticks, etc etc. could it be my battery? i am charging it again to see if maybe it didn't charge right the last time, but as far as i know it was at full charge.....any ideas?

so now i have a new motor and new speed controller in. i don't see it being anything else now except maybe the battery or my transmitter, maybe i have something on or off thats supposed to be the other way????????

Did you maybe change your end points for your throttle?
They should be set as high as possible

One other thing you can check is to see if maybe your pitch is coming in too early. Or maybe you have too much of it.
