RobRoy,

Nice! Is that an HDS-877 digital servo on the boom? If so, how well does it work for you?

Thanks, That's a futaba 9650 on the tail, and it is rock solid. Even durring tail slide takeoffs and reverse huricanes.

not too much adverse flexing to make the gyro work harder with that stock mount to make it wag or anything?

Not that I have experienced. I had to adjust my gyro gain down to 25% to get the over-gain wag to go away, but the tail seems rock solid so far. I have a set of metal mounts on the way, because I was worried about that very thing, but so far it's not been a problem.

i was debating about going with the metal mounts, but at $25, it'd maybe be better spent in getting other things?

Nice, would probably work fine, but these were actually designed to accomodate the 9650.

Why did you buy the HDE over the other TREX models?
Mr. Fuznpilot
I am new to copters and was thinking about buying a Trex, but I dont know what is the difference in the models, besides price. Why would I buy the HDE over the CDE model? And why dont I not read anything about the EP Model? Is this model to old?

T-REX 450XL HDE HELICOPTER
T-REX 450XL CDE (CCPM)
T-REX 450X EP HELICOPTER KIT

Thank for any answers you or the group may be able to provide.

I decided to go with the HDE because I prefer the throttle/collective pitch system over the CCPM. I'm still new to the hobby and I felt more comfortable starting out with the HDE. I also didn't want the CF frame at this time. From what I've read the HDE is more user freindly to work on and is more stable to hover.

the CDE uses the same plastic main frames as the HDE, it's servo carrier and swash are different. It's not hard to setup, there are less parts involved and it can be more precise with less interaction them a mCCPM machine. However, this is really not proveable performance difference albeit maybe a difference in weight.

Trex models
Thank you Mr. Fuznpilot and Mr. Dan Goldstein for your response. So what you are both saying is that both are a good choice, for a beginner, and that either way I go, they are both easy machines to start with. thank you again.
