I've been out of the choppers for about 10 years, and was planning to sell my old X-cell. For some reason I decided to start fixing it up. What a job that has been, I forgot so much and am following Ray's Heli book. I've been flying one of the 90's on the sim and listening to the group talk about flying the larger birds and wouldnt ya know, I ended up ordering one today. Is it just me?

I was told that RCM is no longer being published. Any truth to this, and which Heli mag does everyone like?

Addict here....
more healthy than spending $ in the bars and chasing tail

your right RCM is no longer published, there is a new mag called (quite inventive name) RC Helis that seems to be pretty good, I've read two issues and though they seem to be about 2 months lagging in the technology dept sometimes they are well written, though I Just cancelled my sub due to the fact that I wasnt getting it for one and the few times I did get it it was 3 weeks after it hit the newsstands, screw em! they dont need my $ if they cant get delivery right...

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

I am 110% addicted! I literally revolve my life around flying helis! 3D Masters and Clubman 3D this year! It is my life ! Glad your back in.
I'm from England, so I read/subscribed to Model Helicopter World (MHW).

Furious Vigor
"...i fly with other people and see what other people are using, i end up spending more money"

I am the same! Isn't that terrible how we see someone fly something that performs well (mainly the pros) and then go off and buy it!
Sponsorship DOES work - If I hadn't seen Alan fly his raptor like he does, there is a good chance I woulda never of even considered a raptor 90se.

Hi my name is Chuck & I am an addict. I am going through the 12 step program called RAP. (Rotorwing Addiction Program) We meet down at the local library every Tuesday. The program has helped me tremendously. I can now manage my credit cards & paychecks in a responsible manner.

Another one in the caribbean
Hi, my name is Claude, and I'm a helicoholic I am exerting tremendous restraint to not break down and buy a clutchless turbine, at least not before 1997. I *know* I shouldn't buy it, but on some level, I just don't understand that I must not.

I've become better at not spending too much money on parts, but time-wise, it's a disaster. I've got no time for anything else, and the best way to get me to forget all responsibilities is to flash a new issue of Model Helicopter World in front of me (Thanks for sharing, Mario!)

When I do manage to let a woman into my life again, she'll have to cope with this stuff or she'll be getting the boot.

I cannot get on RR before quitting time, because otherwise, it IS quitting time, even at 9:00 am!

My apartment has a room dedicated to the helis, but they don't stay in it, the little buggers have taken over the kitchen table and the living room as well!

I may as well resign myself to it, I won't cure it in this lifetime.

My heli spending has gone way down since I got a Honda 919 :-)

Hi my name is Adryan. I too have Rotary-Addiction Syndrome.

I too am prone to addiction... from alcohol, nicotine and yes, those(although I've curbed the really bad ones after fatherhood). I tell myself that this is quite wholesome now, but the high does feel somehwat the same. The guilt also feels the same...

1/4 to 1/3????

You are no addict.

100% then youre an addict

Car........... you have to drive to the field
House...... you have to have somewhere to keep the helis, a hangar is wasted space
Food......... you need energy to fly
Heat......... cant let the heli freeze, not good for the fuel tubing or plastic
Clothing.... hard to fly in a police cell, a micro may be a possibility though.

Everything revolves arround the heli.

AMEN! My last GF left me because of the heli's! And I spend at least a 1/3 of my paycheck on heli's too! I'm completely addicted.

The new GF seems to be fairly accepting so far - but time will tell...
