hi,

I'm trying to fly my trex this morning, the outside temperature was -10, but great sunny day, and no wind, so I decide to try a little fly in my close park.

after 30 seconds of hoovering and small circuit, the controls came really slow, like if my D/R was set really really smooth (20%)and my engine came down slowly at the same time., so I completly lost the control and it crash.

after looking at it, I note that the arm, and all head components including flybar arms, was frozen and moved really hard, and got a little frozen on the blades. so after bringning it indoor, the controls came back free and easy to move as the temperature of parts came at the room temp... at the same time my swash plate came appart... don't know if it was in flight or by the shock of the crash...

So the heli fall down like a brick from close to 30 foot of height.

at first view, I only break the landing gear and tail blades, did not looked for the main shaft and spindle, the flybar stay straight and the main blades got no scratch... miracle.

anyone had problems flying at this temperature??? -10°c

thanks

Vincent

Hello,

I have tried to test, what is the lowest temperature to fly my T-Rex. It seems to be -4 degrees celsius. I once tried to fly in -6 degrees and it was horrible. The controls were s-l-o-w. The heli was very difficult to hover. When temperature is -4 or more, there aren't control problems. Battery pack and motor stay cool: that's, why I like winter flying .
