For those of you that don't know what this means... It means G3 will now have the same import/export capabilities that Reflex does... Meaning, we'll be able to fly helis and planes that people make and they will actually LOOK like the helis they represent (whereas now it's just a modified version of the Dominion or whatever).

Very exciting!

I know Nemo_uk was working on Raptors, I don't think they've been released yet. But I'm sure they're right around the corner. There are already 2 planes available for the update which was just released today. I'm sure as the days go by tons more stuff will be available.

I just did the update and really cant tell a difference in the physics. My settings are all the way to 100%. What changed? It is really cool that we can now swap helis this way. Cant wait for some to come out.

Thanks

Just noticed that there is now a blimp in my aircraft folder.

Nice suprise! Don't think it will help with the piroflips much though!

The ground physics are a little different, at least heli's and the skid interaction have changed a little. And if you auto onto the ground the heli slides more (it seems icier!) One of the guys in my online session noticed that. I can't decide if it's better or worse. On spin up, the helis seem to slide more before the headspeed stabilizes. That seems less realistic.

Yeah , the sliding around on the ground isn't an improvement at all , it's a backwards (or sideways ) step . For that reason alone I may go back to the earlier version .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Saw the blimp, it's fun, although needs to be textured better! Like the new aircraft chooser, much nicer to work with. Noticed that helis now hover much better than before; appears ground effect has been improved and tend to not stay in one place anymore. They no longer stick to the ground either, although now feels much too loose on the ground ; there's got a be a mid-point vitek. I found that all helis, from small, beginner class, to the Dom 90 are now flying almost identical, and all seem to fly as if they're on rails, even with wind turned-up a lot. In fact, it seems that helis are way too easy to handle and way forgiving. It also appears that engines are behaving inconsistenly based on collective and cyclic inputs. Autorotations are still completely wrong ... even a beginner can auto without any effort; models have too much power/lift (H-13 autos like a champ).

I'm surprised none of the beta testers have released any new helis; guess most must have been plank folks. Looking forward to finally seeing some good looking models in G3 (although I expect we'll start seeing an influx of FMS-type models, with crummy-looking textures and bad modeling, before real ones do).

Overall not much of an update (aside from the aircraft import/export which didn't test), but better than before. Still has a lot of room for improvement.

I updated and am not impressed. My Raptor 90 says the blades are missing. How did that happen? Is it possible to restore to an earlier version?

I'm taking notes guys. We'll try to fix the issues before the update goes public. Thanks for your patience and feedback.
I updated and am not impressed.
The big changes were to the airplane flight model and the import export. Helicopters were not supposed to change much.
My Raptor 90 says the blades are missing.
This is most likely because you never had the rotor blade file or put it in the wrong place. We just added that error message, so it could have been happening this whole time and you never knew about it.
Is it possible to restore to an earlier version?
Yes, you can go back to 410 using the Launchers Registration/Updates button.
The sliding around on the ground isn't an improvement at all
I've already filed a bug for this one. It should be fixed before we go public with the update.
