I'm looking at getting a set of Radix 690 blades but don't know if I want the 175 or 185's. How would the flight characteristics differ between the two?
Thanks

The lighter the blade (175g) would have a faster cyclic response, but would suffer (slightly more) in autos.
The heavier blade (185g) would have a slightly slower cyclic response, but would have more reserve in the autos.

This is the general "Rule" when it comes to blades, but the 185g Radix still have an unbelievable cyclic rate compared to other manufactures. To be honest, I doubt you'd notice MUCH difference between the two blade weights - maybe some, but not much. I used to use 188.5g V-Blades, they were GREAT - very fast cyclic and reserve in the auto, now I've changed to Radix. I say with Radix, go for the 185g (I have)!

I'm using TT 710's at the moment. Sounds like the Radix 690's will give me a big improvement in cyclic response and still have enough left for good autos.

Thanks for the help.

Also, can I run the Radix 105 tail blades or should I stay with the 95 NHP's I have.

Yeah, the Radix 690 should improve your cyclics quite a bit - although the TT blades are supposed to be quick too. Best to go for the radix 105 tail blades and take off those 95s. Your flying a 90 size correct?

Yes, an Evo 90. I have to run the 95's with the 710's.

Really? Wow. With 690s I'm sure using the 105s will work great and be the right length. Good combo.

The EVO's tail grips are much longer and provide the same tail disc diameter as an MA heli with 105's. Keep the 95's they're more than you'll ever need!

Also, I don't understand this hype on the Radix's I tried a set and felt really let down, as they didn't seem as fast as my SAB's and they lost auto performance. They felt the same as TT's to me. SAB's are still my favorite blades!

I can't afford to try everything out there. All I want is something with quicker cyclic response and something that won't load the engine as much as TT 710's but still has good auto performance. From what I've read, most people like the Radix blades. There are ohters out there that I need to look at, also.

Hi Medflight,

For a fast cyclic response and very good auto performance, try this combo : RADIX 690 (185 gr)+ SAB 95 + 1950 RPM. It's what I use on my Avant EFX and it's awesome.

Regards

Olivier

I am using NHP tails, so I will probably try them before getting new ones since you guys say 95's will work on the tail.
