I have an old x-cell 60 model 1001 thats been upgraded 1004. What would be needed so I could upgrade it to a 90 size bird.

90 conversion
The main things are different gears, a metal head block, and the newer hardened t/r gears and metal gear box. The t/r gears won't last long in the plastic gear box if you fly hard and the head block will get egged out. Some extra supports to stiffen up the radio tray are a good idea. The old metal frames will crack and break, you might be able to find a newer CF frame set for a good price here on RR. I had one with an 80, and honestly, it's not worth it. The basic head design is the same as the newer Xcells and it will fly OK, but practically everything else on the new helis has been strengthened to deal with the extra power. You'd be ahead in the long run selling it and getting a more modern airframe. Hope this helps. steve.

If you want to keep running 690s you don't need the 33" boom. You'll need the 90 tooth main gear and a 14? I believe pinion on the clutch bell, a new collet set for the engine, and possibly engine mount. My Pro Graphite 60 is very similar, and these are basically all it needs when/if I want to do it because it already has many upgrades. If yours doesn't have it already, you'll want the upgrade that adds a bearing to support the front of the tail drive off the main gear.

I can get you the stock #'s if you want, I have them written down...but I'm not sure if they all apply to the 1004, as I don't know what # a pro graphite is.
