I just bought the Pirahna charger. The packs are getting VERY warm when charging before it cuts off and goes to trickle mode. I am charging the stock E-flite Blade CP packs. The settings are 1.5A, 650mAh, 8mA per cell peak sensitivity. Won't the high temp. kill the packs? Am I missing a setting here?

If I read your question correctly you are charging a 650mAh pack at 1.5 amps. Standard charge would be 650m Amps. You are quick charging them at 1.5 Amps and they will get very warm. I charge my NiCd, Lipo & NiMH batteries at 1C or less (650mA in your case). Quick charges may shorten the life of the pack.

The charge amps will only go down to 0.1 amps. I thought I read somewhere to charge them at 1-1.5 amps?

Yes, you are charging them fine. 1.5 amps should be fine, maybe do 1.3 amps. Don't charge at 1 C unless doing lipos, you will sit around all day waiting. NIMH and NICD can be charged higher.
