Do you have a receiver battery too? That ESC doesn't provide power to the radio, so you need a receiver battery or seperate BEC circuit.

The Kontronik 55-16-30 has BEC,
it's said to provide up to 6 amps.

But it seems this esc has been delayed
for some reason.

The estimated price is another thing, very $$.

Otherwise the 55-6-18 has the "standard" 2 Amp/BEC

All Jazz ESC's have a switched BEC built in them, they recomend to use an external receiver battery. If you want to use a separate battery for the receiver you can one of two things, you can remove the red wire from the receiver cable and use an external battery or you can leave the red wire and also use an external battery connecting in parallel with the BEC to any free plug in the receiver. This will give you redundant power supply.

How did you program your Jazz?

stanc,

NOT all of the JAZZ have BEC.

Most specifically ,the 55-10-32 that started this thread
does NOT have BEC.

That's correct. The 55-10-32 does not have a BEC. If you're using the 55-10-32 then you probably have a good size ship to put this in. Just get a UBEC. http://www.aeromicro.com/Catalog/ko..._5v_3982367.htm You could use this in conjunction with your primary lipo, or get a small 2S pack and use it to power your receiver as a separate.

Before posting I took the time to check the manufacturer's web site for the specs on the 55-10-32. Jumping in and posting incorrect info only leads to confusion. I took my info from here

I didn't just jump in and give wrong information, the instruction manual that came with the Jazz 55-10-32 states that all Jazz ESC have a BEC. Since I never owned any of the other Jazz ESC's that state on the ESC itself that it has a BEC, I took the manuafacturer for his word that it had a BEC. They were very specific about what to do if you were going to use an external battery for the receiver. I never checked to see if there was power on the red wire because I wanted to use another battery for the receiver anyway. They probably printed one manual for all Jazz ESC's. Please excuse the blunder, I guess I shouldn't believe everything I read.
