I think you should speak for yourself... Ive been thinking about a Trex but with all the CONSTANT problems Ive been hearing about them, I think I would rather wait for a potentially more professional product.

Please do not listen to all of the negatives on the T-Rex. I upgraded from a Shogun after watching one of our local flyers run his on a 6S system. It is capable of mild to wild with lots of variables. It has some problems but so did every heli I have ever owned. It is a very capable heli. It also flies bigger and more stable than most micros. I am running an SE but it is overkill. I did my research and am very happy with my final product. My recommendations.
3S- mild 4S- wild (I fly 4S only)
Standard T-Rex kit with metal head and stiffer dampeners.
401 with 9650 or new Airtronics on the tail.
Jazz speed controller or Castle with separate BEC. (I fly Jazz)
Fix the swash before you put it together. (15 min fix after heli is together)
Blades - your preference. They all have good and bad. (I like 315-320)
I do not go to the field without my T-Rex. She has flown in 20mph and done more than survive. My Raptor and Vigor sure are sitting a lot these days. I fly them while charging.

You can wait but I'm flying 3-6 packs (its a habit I can quit anytime really!) a day with my "unprofessional product" While my raptor is sitting on the shelf because its snowing I can fly my trex in the gym by the time Thunder Tiger gets its head out of its *** it will be warm again and then I can break out the 50 and then there is not as much of a need for a TT 400 electric because it will be springtime

TOO LATE!

I ordered the Trex SE a few mins ago. I think I will just get the TT heli when it comes out. The TT might be more professional atleast. Who knows yah know. Maybe they will atleast make true parts, and top notch CNC stuff.

Ah man, when I saw the thread I was just hoping there would be some pic or something. I love my trex but im still looking foward to what the come out with. I really hope they can make the heli lighter than the Trex.

Trex se a great machine, but how many of you have more than 1 trex? I sure great to have something to compare with trex, and you trust the quality of TT

...to learn flying helis through the cheapest way you need a TT Raptor 50.. you can go all the road from hovering to inverted fligth without crashes and more expenses.. a Li-Po costs about 60 Euro in Europe.. with 60 Euro you can buy 3 galons of nitro.. means 35 15min minimum fligths which are fare enough to start nose in and gently 8's.

...to enjoy helis you can choose and buy everything you can pay and Trex IMO is a very capable and fun machine... but.. for how many of you it was your FIRST heli and you enjoy it?

in my opinnion to learn helis the nitro is the way to go.

**note to self** people in E Heli forums do not give a rats arse about your messy nitro buisness, lol.

My first heli was a crappy Venom night ranger, what a waste of money it was to. My first nitro "Raptor 50" really developed me that is for certain. However the bigger E helis eat my nitro birds for lunch and I will be dumping my nitros this summer. Messy, tuning crap, always have to pack a whack of stuff.... overrated imho. Cheers

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I thought I heard that Align was going to introduce a new larger version this week at the E-Fest. Something with 400-425mm blades.
anyone else heard, or seen this?

Yeah, I think I saw that post too. I'm sure it's true. Andy told us that the 30 size electric was scheduled to be released in March or April. I know they've been working on it for a while. So it makes sense. We'll see.

Perfect timing with the Dewalt li-ion packs coming out this spring.
