[size=large]Need help please. I have a swift heli with the hacker A308XL and 11 tooth pinion. with this setup i can only get about 1550 head speed. i talked to century about using a 12 tooth and they said it would run to hot. any help would be great. I am also using the tanic 4s1p battery and 80 amp castle speed controller

I had run a similar setup before on my swift...a30-8xl, 11T, but with a tp6000 4S3P...and I was getting about 1800 for the head speed.

You should be getting about 1800 (using main gear with 97 teeth):
11/97 * 14.8V * 1100rpm/V equals 1846rpm

Perhaps your battery cannot handle the amps it is drawing?...or your throttle curve is set too low? Do you have another ESC that you can try? The a30-8xl with 4s lipo is rated at 25amps with a peak of 33amps. An esc with a rating of 40amps should work fine.

Hey,

Recently I have learnt working out a head speed on paper does not equate to what the head speed will be while flying with a load on the head. I was told this and then found out for myself with a tacho.

The stock UK Swift setup I am running on paper should run at 1874, but in flight only runs at 1550. Still very good at this speed and capable of 3D no problem, but outside what it should be on paper.

I agree...but at zero pitch the rpm calculation should be pretty close...1550 seems low....but the bottom line is you get what you get!

If I get a chance, I'll tach that configuration again...
