Hi There,
I have just finished building my ION-X, and I would like a little help in setting up the esc. I have a logo20 with a schulze esc. I am doing just basic hovering and minor forward flight with the heli. What headspeed should I run the ion at, and does the hacker 77-0 have soft startup, and a governor mode? I am using a Futaba T9chp tx.

Thanks for your time

Curtis

Hi,

Did you get the esc with the heli ? if you did it should already be set up.

The Hacker does have a soft start up just not as soft and smooth as say a Schulze or Kontronic.

Don't use the Gov mode with the Hacker just use normal mode with some throttle curves. I think it says something in the Ion manual about this.

Hope that helps

Simon.

Thank You Simon,

Yes, This is the motor and esc that comes with the kit. Could you tell me what headspeed the ion should run at? 1700-1800 rpm's??

So just plug the battery packs in, and proceed as the manual states, that will get me going??

Thanks alot

Hi,

Yes just follow it excatly as the manual states, I think it says to try it without the main/tail blades I recommended doing this the first time just to check it all works ok (don't spool it right up though)

If it doesn't spool properly up and makes a weird noise, then reverse any two of esc/motor wires around as it was going backwards.

Headspeed, I have know idea what mine runs out I just copied the instruction manual and tweaked from them, Don't drop you throttle curve below 80% as the esc won't like it and it can get hot, shut down etc.

Simon.
