just wondering if its overkill to run digital on the throttle as i run just a standard futaba s148 on my rappy 50 with the gv1 and that works fine...

I found that a good digital servo with speed feels much better because the throttle doesn't lag behind the collective. I am a beginner but the experienced pilots I fly with taught me this and it is true.

No, you don't have to have a digital. I would go for one of the faster analogs though. It's like mentioned above, you don't want too much throttle lag.
