It seems that every other time I have a tailboom shipped from Century to me UPS manages to destroy it... I received my shipment from Century today and the box was mangled but thankfully the tailboom was not damaged.

Last time the box looked like it had been stepped on and the tailboom and a carbon rod got destroyed in the process.

Maybe Century could spend a few more cents and ship long items in tubes instead of boxes.

Any body else have this problem???

I tried flying upside down once... but I couldn't take the blood rushing to my head.

maybe you could ask them to ship it USPS Priority using their
triangular tube.

or get it from Rick's.

Never had one of those triangular tubes wrecked.

I've had a couple of boxes shipped with booms and other stuff but it's always arrived OK other that the box does look "used".

Got Money? Send it to me, I'm a Heli Addict.

I never got a bent one from my LHS

After picking it up at the store, I guess the only way it could get bent is if I sat on it as I got into the car

UPS Shipping
CWOAV8R,

You are right. It seems that UPS can't deliver a package that doesn't look like it's been in the monkey cage at the zoo for a few days. I always opt for USPS shipping if available. It's faster, cheaper and I don't see the usual damage issues that I see with UPS.

Tail booms
I have gotten over 100 tail booms from them and only once was there a bent one. Just ask for usps shipping of Fedex. I found fedex to be cheaper and safer.

Simply solution, order from Ricks. They tend to tape them to a nice fat piece of oak, which takes the beating instead of the tailboom.

I give up on Loctite, nothing lasts long enough to vibrate loose anymore.
