The T-rex Xl is bigger than the zoom by a fair bit, although if you run the short boom and 305 blades, it,s not by much.
I can measure them if you like.. biggest difference is weight.
They both take knocks about the same,
Colin.......
Ps, you also need to consider which one before you buy batteries as the zoom is not as accomadating with the shape of some lipo's, i have modified my frames..

Hi Simon

come to the indoor meet on monday there will be plenty of trex's there for you to observe once you see one fly you will not want anything else

The world is round you can run but you will always end up where you started from

I'm leaning towards the Trex as it's slightly larger and it will be used outside alot more than indoors.

Whats the newest version of the SE out at the moment ? seen some with a blue main gear ?

What servo's fit without any mods and which fit without drilling the frames.

If i were you i would think about the trex xl it will do everything you need it to and be cheap on the repairs where as a se will be more expensive anyway the trex xl ccpm version has better cyclic response
The indoor meet is this monday 8 till 10 @ Courtmoor School in fleet

I have a Zoom V2 and just got a Trex SE. Trex is so much nicer I was really surprised. Better build up and much much more stable.

Ok thanks, just tying to work out if I want to get the SE with the motor and esc or get seperate items.

I want to use 3s in it.

Anyone using FP 3s 1800's with this setup ? Do they fit ok ?

Do HS56's fit ok ?

Hi,

Should I buy the SE with the 430L/esc combo or just get the kit and get a seperate motor/esc.

I know I want to use 3s and I want a decent amount of power, I don't need a real hot ballistic set up.

If you get an Align or CC ESC for use with the 430L motor, better get a separate BEC or the the ESC will soon be toast!

I'm currently running an Align 420LF and an Align 25A ESC. This combo works fine for my type of flying.

Question.... I just got my CC25 and CC35 controllers back from repair (CC replaced them both free of charge) and they have the new 3A BEC. Does that fix the problems people were having with the old 1.5A BECs?

My old CC35 worked fine until I shorted the circuit board on my CF frame other than the BEC getting fairly hot at times (1.5A BEC). Maybe the new 3A BEC works better.

Thanks.
