Thanks for the heads up korzry.
I just down loaded also. I will try it a few days. It is faster but the top tool bar is a waist of space.
It would be nice if you could drag the tool bar buttons to wear you want them.

thats why it is still a beta.... why not join the test forum and voice your dislikes? I havent read through it yet but I am sure it is very well addressed.

How to go back?
OK how do i uninstall IE7 and put IE6 back on. I'm tired of my eyes straining with the fonts. I have tried it all.

System Restore maybe? Restore back to when you installed it if it wasn't but a couple days and you haven't made any other changes since then that you want to keep.

Heh, ouch.

Since it's supposed to be a "preview", I expected it to install and run independently of IE6 and/or to have an uninstall or restore to IE6 option. But so far I haven't found any easy way to get back to IE6 at all.

In System Restore, look for an entry labeled "Install %1 %2" maybe? Or just any checkpoint prior to when you installed it.

Love it, not an iota of a problem with it.. This BETA shows great promise and step in the right direction for sure. Love the tabbed pages, Love the fact that since beta 1 they have moved the closing X into each tab title, Love having my full Google bar, (those who say they lost buttons (search this site) don't have a clue how to operate a Google bar!) LMAO.. Also like all of the productivity tools built in and hey if my kids can find them, it shouldn't be too hard for you adults. Does it have bugs? Ummm yah... Its a freakin beta lol.. So for you complainers, use your lips for more than flapping. Report the bugs! It's easy, free, and makes things better for all. For the haters.. Im glad you find your semi dis-functional software good to go as well I have used most of them, every last swingin one of them has their quirks. BTW for those wanting to go back and forward get a good mouse with side buttons works great. A few key shortcuts will help out a lot as well. Oh and the zoom function works well especially if you hunt for any easter eggs in sites.

I didn't say you lose the special search functions while using the actual Google toolbar.. I said you lose those functions by "not" using the Google toolbar and using the embedded search bar with the Google engine as default to save space.

BTW One other thing I really like about the update is the ability to have multiple home pages. I usually open up all the norms one at a time when I get home or get online.. By settings the norms as alternate home pages it pops them all up automatically in tabs when I open IE.. That alone is a great have

Yeah that sounds neat.

I'm getting used to it.. But I still wish they hadn't made the top bar partially intigrated with the window title bar and allowed us to resize the address bar and use that space for more toolbars (like Google).

I'm glad I don't totally hate it then if we seem to be stuck with it. I've tried other browsers and couldn't stand them (Mozilla etc).

agreed they could have left the ability to resize it for sure. but unfortunately for real estate on a desktop its a give and take world.. One thing I may be overlooking about that particular problem is all of my monitors are widescreen so I may not see the toolbar real estate issue as badly as some. But especially for work and research the layout is much better as I commonly have 20 or so sites open at any given time.. Instead of having to find them in a group of indeterminate garbage down on the toolbar, or sticking myself in Alt=Tab hell, I can now hit Ctrl+Q and pick them out of a pictured list. Almost accurately labeled and at least sensible information is written above it.

It deffinately is a step forward for this browser and as any of you that have used other browsers can say.. They all are getting to look alot like each other.. It will be very hard to tell them apart in the very new future.

laddy,

If you wish to go back go to add/remove programs. In the upper right corner check the box for show updates

Your IE7 beta will be at the very bottom in a uninstall only mode.

So is there a way to force links that normally open in seperate windows to open in tabs instead? Some links refuse to tab properly and I end up with multiple windows afterall.

Depending on the link and using the right click menu, some will just open the same page I'm already on in a new tab instead of the link's destination or nothing will happen at all.
