Last night I installed the fixed servo tray in my Caliber 30 and changed the Swash from Nor to 120 Deg. Sweet! So far I like it much better.

After installing the servos and setting the TX to 120 Deg swash, I centered the sticks (setting throttle/collective at center) and aligned the servo arms. Then, after making all necessary adjustments in the “SWAH” setting (I had to change the Aileron from +70 to -70 and the Pit from +70 to -70, the Elevator was fine), I noticed that the 3 servo arms were now way out of alignment with the throttle at 50 percent.

I had to remove the servo arms and reinstall them to set them at the 90 deg alignment position. Is that normal??

Do you have any sub-trim on the channels you changed the swash settings. If you do have sub-trim, it will give you the effect you noticed.

Also instead of changing from +70 to -70, try reversing that particular channel instead and see if you that has the same effect.

the cyclic rocker-arm things need to be moved to the further aft position on the frame, and your two outside servos may need to be turned around.

THanks guys.

jfint,

What engine do you have? I'm very new to this sport, only been flying nitro since last August. Everyone said to stick with OS engines for reliability and that's all I own. I know how to set the mixture needle, and that's about it!

I have replaced the piston and sleeve in an OS37, but that was a no brainer once I found out that the ring can only be in one position.

Where do you fly??

tnbulldog,

You hit the nail on the head. I had previously entered subtrim values to align the servo arms. Makes sense. Thanks!

I fly mostly in Simi Valley, with the club there. dkshema has been helping me with my engine trouble, I think its worked out, i just haven't gotten to try it yet.

Here is our club website, its not very impresive, but there is a little map there. If you have AMA up to date your welcome to come be my guest.
