Yeah John Kerry served there too, but that did not stop him from coming back and lying through his teeth, making statements about his fellow soldiers committing attrocities. These statements are now proven false. And he was the Democratic candidate? Wonder why he lost the election? Hint: US electorate is not so stupid as to miss this fact. They do not agree with the duplicitous left wing of the Democratic party.

Oh really? And just how is that?

If you are talking about warrantless wiretaps that is
nothing new. Various Presidents going back to FDR
have done the same thing.

After the attacks on the US embassy in Kenya and
Tanzania Bill Clinton ordered the same thing.
Where was your outrage then?

Ronald Reagan used them after the suicide bombing
of US Marines in Beruit.

Jimmy carter made extensive use of it after the
Iranians took over the US Embassy in Tehran.

During World War II the US/UK TransAtlantic cable
was tapped and all cables between US and the UK were
monitored. All mail between the US and the UK was
diverted through Bermuda where it was sorted and
opened and scanned for intelligience.

So its nothing new. An often used method of
gathering intelligence in a time of war or other
crisis. If you look beyond the headline you will
see this is nothing but an attempt to create an
"issue" in an election year.

I don't care which administration used/uses/will use them. It's fundementally wrong in the United States of America and has no place here.

And you're comment about "Where was your outrage then?" As if I'm some kind of liberal, democratic nut-hugger. It's pretty funny.

Republican, Democrat, Libertarian etc... If I perceive it as undermining the Constitution of the United States, I'll be the first to speak up about it. I don't give a flying flip about party affiliations.

So Jitsu Guy gets to determine what our president's authority is against an enemy whith whom we are currently at war?

Hmmm,....... nope.

There is no problem with the wiretaps, just another screaming fit by the confused left, trying to create scandal where there is none. Then the ill-informed grab onto it as if it were somehow a pure fact.

Sound and fury signifying nothing, AGAIN.

I know, how about some viable leadership ideas from the left? Don't have any? Not surprising. It is a shame though, balance is important, but since the democrats are so stuck on F-Bush, there is not any substantive and viable alternative currently.

Want a scandal?

Well here you go, Reid, of NV, Democratic minority leader of the senate is now tied in big time to Abramhoff.

According to AP

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/02/09/D8FLPHO80.html

You got your own scandal now, a real one. Enjoy. He will be stepping down from his leadership post shortly.

Why?

Again I urge you to read beyond the headline.
Despite it being billed as "domestic spying"
it is actually nothing of the sort. It was
monitoring of calls that originated OUTSIDE
of the US to people in the US suspected of ties to
terror groups.

If another attack occurrs in the US you will
undoubtedly start bitching your head off claiming
the President didnt do enough to thwart it.

One of the most important duties of the President
is the protection of our country and its citizens
and Im glad we have a President willing to use any tool
at his disposal toward that end.

Stet, you beat me to it. But because most of the mouthpieces for the left won't go to that link, here's a few excerpts:
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid wrote at least four letters helpful to Indian tribes represented by Jack Abramoff, and the senator's staff regularly had contact with the disgraced lobbyist's team about legislation affecting other clients... The activities.... are far more extensive than previously disclosed. They occurred over three years as Reid collected nearly $68,000 in donations from Abramoff's firm, lobbying partners and clients.
Reid, D-Nev., has led the Democratic Party's attacks portraying Abramoff's lobbying and fundraising as a Republican scandal.
And my favorite...
Reid has assailed Republicans' ties to Abramoff while refusing to return any of his own donations. He argues there's no need to return the money.
Yeah. No need.

Actually, I would believe the President had a lot to do with the terrorist attack as I believe he did with 9-11.

Stet, it's obvious you have the inability to think outside of party affiliations and you have a strange desire to label those that don't agree with you as "left." I guess all Republicans are for this war right? And all Republicans support Bush right? If not, they're obviously leftist.

And it's not me determining the presidents authority. It's the Consitution.

From one ex-military person to another, you should know better than to allow yourself to be brainwashed by half-truths and propaganda. Especially being a Vietnam Vet.
Me brainwashed?? you listened to a speech where Bush said we were winning,, and the overwhelming facts show otherwise,, and you believed him without question.

Not one point in my original post was a lie or an exaggeration,, not one.

You guys are PO'd because the whole Republican Bubble is about to burst. Remember Tom Delay saying he would never step down,, he was going to fight for his Chairmanship even when members of his party were calling for him to step down,, he put up some fight didn't he?? The GOP was supposed to take the moral high ground and be above greed, corruption, and work for the people of this country,, their turning out to be the worst. George Bush, the only President in history to call "Illegal Aliens", "Undocumented Workers",, right out of Orwell's - Ministry of Truth.
Have you forgotten about Afghanistan in your rants? People are still fighting and dying over there, too. And before you spew more propaganda about "Iraq not being a threat", do some research on Ansar al Islam and Saddam's ties to al Quaida training.
Rants ?? You must have me confused with someone else. I'm not the one filling up screen after screen about Bill Clinton,, who has been out of office for 5 years. Afghanistan had to be invaded and the Taliban taken care of,, you won't get an argument from me on that.
Well here you go, Reid, of NV, Democratic minority leader of the senate is now tied in big time to Abramhoff.

Reid collected nearly $68,000 in donations from Abramoff's firm, lobbying partners and clients
You conveniently forgot to mention, Reid received the campaign contributions and as the law required he reported them. You're using "half-truths" to infer Harry Reid broke the law,, hhhmmmm,, that's called propaganda.
does not give you an excuse to say whatever you want and then get angry when people disagree with you.
Are we reading the same posts??? Out of the box,, his first post,, MAH labeled me a "low life". Me angry,, no. I've run into people all my life like MAH,, if you don't see the world thru their tunnel vision,, doesn't matter what kind of sacrifice you've made,, in their eyes you're a "low life". I worked with a Republican election judge several years ago who believed all Democratics should be lined up and shot. I asked him,, what if they were decorated War Heroes and had saved lives,, he never answered. A Democratic being a War Hero doesn't fit into their Myopic Vision,, only Republicans can be War Heroes.

Band of Brothers

Just as I expected. Do you have any opinion that wasnt
formed from some lame conspiracy site?

You hold yourself up as some sort of disgruntled
Republican as if that validates your rhetoric.
You come on various threads here on RR and make inflammatory
statements and to back them up you cite some type of
conspiracy site or cut and paste material from those
same sites.

If you are going to make statements like that here you
had better be prepared to back them up. And try to
formulate your answers with your own words instead
of words from some crazy conspiracy site.

Are you reading the same posts? If you reread what I said
you earned the title because you hide behind a pseudonym
to air your political rantings. You are so unsure of your
own rhetoric that the only way you can express yourself
is behind a veil of anonymity.

I labeled you not because of what you posted but because
of your reason for posting it. You didnt post it to
encourage discussion or debate. You posted it to mock
those that support the war and the current administration.

If the shoe fits...
