After flying two 10 minute flights I noticed that the side of the tail pulley actually melted a bit and the plastic grouped together and squeezed the belt. Just something else to watch for.

Yeah, my belt fell off the rear pully "to the left" and got wedged between the housing. As a result the front pully melted and warped. I replaced them with the Pro Blue Gear Set, works good now

Is the "pro blue gear set" the one Align sells with the metal belt drive gears?

Yes the Pro drive is the blue gears & metal pulleys.
Just be careful, there are 2 options, depending on if you have the plastic frame or the carbon one.
One has the front pulley seperate for the carbon frame blocks.

I have the plastic XL frame, the package I bought has the front belt pulley attached to the shaft with the bearing and gear already pressed on. I assume it's the right one. The guy at the shop told me the gear has a differnt ratio as the theory is to help tail wag by slowing the tail rotor down, does this sound right? I just bough it because of the metal belt pulley.

The tail reduction is for use with high headspeeds because the tail rotor is spinning faster than it needs to be and its not in its "sweetspot."

Hotrod,
The one you have is correct for the plastic frame.
I didn't notice much difference with the blue gears, had to turn up gain just a bit. I just didn't like that plastic & aluminum tail rotor turning 11,000+ and thats with a headspeed below 2400.
Do like the aluminum pulleys though, have already melted a plastic one.Darn snow!

I ordered the 1152 from Modefo's and got the pressed on version, just what I ordered.

His pictures show 1152 pressed, 1153 detached.
