Setup a stock Trex CCPM with HS-56 servos. Ball links are on second hole of the longer servo arms for all control surfaces. The swash mixing is turned down to about 40% aileron/elevator which give about 6 degrees of cyclic authority. Pitch is turned down to like 29-30%. Are these normal %'s to have for the trex?

The problem is it seems to have very mushy controls and no there is no exponential on the radio(futaba 9z). Is this just how these things are that is mushy feeling? I am comparing it to a fury extreme so maybe that is the prob. It also seems to have a lot of slop in the head even though all fasteners are tight. Would this thing come alive with a metal head?

Also I had to use subtrim for the first time. It seems to be interacting with the collective because when moving through the pitch range the swashplate does not stay completely level. I setup the servo arms to be 90 degrees at mid stick and then adjusted the linkages to be
0 degrees pitch mid stick
10+ full collective
10- full collective

Is there a way to setup the arms for 90 degree at mid stick without using subtrim? I am used to having the big futaba wheels and like 17 different positions to choose from not two.

Thanks,
Branden

We could use a little more info. Like what head speed are tou running? Trex mushy. For a Trex to be mushy you have something not right. When it's set up right you'll be asking how can I tame it down!

Welcome my son, Welcome to the machine

I dont have a tach. The motor is a 400dh 11T pinion with hyperion 1800 20C . ESC is a CC35 set to fixed mode and 70% throttle mid stick curved up to 100% for full =/- collective. If I had to guess it would be around 2400-2500ish.

I'll make sure I'm there....

I can skip a Weak Signals meeting (my RC club, the sponsor of the Toledo show)

I'll bring my tach.... the bad part is it is an airplane tach, so we need to go outside to use it... the flourescent lights screw with it....

I'm old, bitter, and don't like people.... get over it
