To all,

How do you acquired so many helicopters? This is a very expensive hobby. Is there a discount store I don't know about? How do you do it, besides having lots of money?

I have a family to support and mortgage payment, just wondering what's your secret.

Give the wife very detailed instructions at christmas & birthdays.

I've given my wife web page links (got my HB that way) or magazine ads and directions to which LHS has the item in stock (got my Spektrum that way).

(Incidentally, if you think helis are expensive, check out competition sailplanes or F5B planes. You dont get much for the price of a logo 10!)

I see, so give her lots of hints. My first piccolo I said "The kids would love to play with it and it's only $50". So little white lies, I had to do that with my 2nd shogun, told her it was the same one. Most of the time I bought it with cash, using credit card she would see it.

I live in California so the cost of living here is quite expensive, there's no way I could drop a thousand or 2 on a Fury Extreme, Three Dee MP, or Bionic 24. You get what you pay for, the best is expensive.

I use to work for Hobby People, and would just get the helicopters for half price most of the time, same thing with servos, gyros, and recivers. So work for a hobby store and get to know really famous rc people, they might get you stuff for free, or cheaper. To bad I don't work for them anymore, needed to quit, I got my own aircraft maintenace shop, so its 24/7.

If its not scale I ain't flying it, unless its a TREX

Interesting, work hard for it

I do have a 2nd job, we have a family business installing blinds and plantation shutters. Looks like the wife and kids end up with the money. It's all good though.

What I need is a rich pretty looking sugar mama to pay for my expensive hobby.

1. I sell some RC parts on Ebay and keep the money in PP, so my wife don't know how much I got .

2. Look for good deals on RR. So far I only bought 1 bird from LHS. The super good deals I got From here are amazing. I pay for them with PP, so my wife don't know how much I got them for .

3. Do help a lot of people here on RR. I have free stuff coming to me as thank you gift from RR members .

4. Sell your extra stuff by parting them out. Get more money that way.

5. Fly on your computer a lot to reduce number of crashes and save money on buying parts.

6. Keep your bird stock as most stock parts will do the work. Blings cost a lot and Gorn learned it the hard way

7. Make blings DIY style. I made a few in the past, will take you a while to look through my 1000 posts, but they are there

I don't think getting a 2nd job is the way to do it. It will take your time away from playing your birds

Great advice there, I should set up an account on Ebay. I have more then $1500 worth of RC nitro and electric cars. Dang I'm going to miss them.

But still, a rich sugar mama like Jessica Alba would nice.

Definitely get a second job! ... and then decide, "can I get by with just 3 hours of sleep per night". Kidding aside, you need an understanding spouse, treat them every once in a while, and if that doesn't work say " would you rather I spent the money at the bar?". Don't drop that one too often though.

Good Luck!
