Hi,

I had ordered some HS 56's and was wondering if the JR DS281 are a direct fit in the SE V2 frame? Also would I need the Dubro Micro servo arms also?

Thanks

I run 281's in my heli and they work great and are a drop in servo. I wouldnt use the Dubro horn as a standard JR horn will fit and is a little stronger. I also used my 281's on a 6volt BEC from Dimensionengineering.com as it speeds them up.

Hey flyboy.... Whats Up...

I dropped some 281's in mine... they are ever so slightly smaller than the 56's, but the holes lined up perfectly....so they dropped in to my XL CDE....

very nice... very stable..
haven't had a chance to wring it out yet...

I am running a 6V BEC as well....

Thank you for the input but I will be using the SE V2 frame not the stock plastic frame.

I do appreaciate the input though.

exeter, I'm really interested to see what you think about those things. I'm on the verge of trying some myself.

They fit in the SE and work well. The stock horns give perfect geometry.

I have been flying these and actually went back to these after some getting used to the SE I found the only difference would be the centering are better on the 281's but the speed is still slower. Im also looking at the possiblity of using a new JR digital car servo.
its the Z3650 here are the specs on it

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Product...rodID=JRPSZ3650

Specs are 51oz of torque at .09 that looks pretty good to me so I should be picking one up this weekend at efest and trying it out.

The specs on JRPSZ3650 look great, but it's heavy and big. The DS281's are .32oz and the JRPSZ3650 is over 1oz. You'd add over 2oz of weight with 3 of them.

ChrisT88, for the DS281 horns were you referring to the smal horns or the standard size horns. They ship with the small horns on them.

Sorry, I was a little unclear on the Z3650, I would use this for the tail servo as it is close in specs to the 9650. The case is the same as a 9650 just it doesnt have the funky side mounting tabs.

For perfect geometry you need to use the standard horns that ship with all standard size JR servos.

Oh yeah I could better see the Z3650 being used in place of the 9650.

The standard horns makes sense as well. My buddies 450X has the JR 241 servos and the little horns and the pushrods are not straight, the geometry is not good IMO. We had already discussed swapping them out.

not sure if there was a problem...

but was out yesterday... really wringing it out...
first chance I have had with the 281's.....

loops, flips, rolls... very nice... until I put it into a roll and it just kept rolling, and rolling, and rolling until it hit the ground....

SERVO GEAR HAD STRipped!!

sadly, a couple others have had it happen around her, and I thought it was a fluke.....

281's??? You can take um......

I know others use them just fine...... but I am done with them!

I'm old, bitter, and don't like people.... get over it

So Flyboy91......have you had a chance to try the Z3650 on the tail of your Trex yet?
I have one in my 1/12 scale car and was looking to put in the heli since I have not raced on road in a while and the Futaba is so hard to get right now.
