What servos should i put in a converted 30V2 I have a good tail servo but what would be best for the rest I want reliability more than performance and money is an issue.

9252s on collective and cyclic. They are very consistent & reliable.
8700G on tail
9254 on throttle - good for most govenors

money is an issue.
I have had good results with JR.
591'S @£9 each are fine for cyclic, and collective. and will last you well for the money,,,. with ballraced output and good centering.
When you want more torque and speed, i would skip the DS811 even though you can pick them up for around £20, they dont centre any better than 591's and the difference in speed and torque is marginal you are as well of skipping to the DS8231'S @£50 each i think are very good.
I dont use Futaba so could not comment.

im with colsy,

top of the range gear is really not needed.

if futaba 3001s are good enough for mike mas they are good enough

for me. leave the top of the range gear for the posers and

oneupmanship brigade.

sorry, missed the bit on money is an issue.
I've still got an old 50V2 equipped with DS811s and its happy to be thrown around. The gears can get a bit sloppy after some abuse, they are not double raced, and they're not lightning speed, but they will handle a moderate amount of 3D. If the gears do get too sloppy, then its only a couple of quid for a new set.
Checkout Hitec servos, I believe there are some good value, reasonable spec ones available now.

I would suggest the 519's if the budget is really tight .Or ,if the budget allows, DS811's / Hitec 545 five pole servos/ Hitec 635's / Futaba 9001 coreless .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Being a bit bored , I've checked out some prices .
JR591 £8.95
JR DS811 £17.99
Futaba 9001 £23.99
Hitec 635 £20.50
Hitec 545 £22.99

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Cheers all
Are 9001 ball raced and were can i get them from at that price, as the cheapist ive seen them is £29. Guy martin that first reply scared me to death as ive bought a 9254 for the tail and i think that was £60. What would be my best option for under £30 as i have 4 standard jr servo in it at the moment and due to a crash the pitch servo seems to rattle about abit (about 1 mm up and down)

The 9001's have a single BB . Inwoods models have them at the price I quoted . On the pitch , I'd probably go for the Hitec 635 simply based on its torque .

Hey,
I have an R50/hyp running 9001x4 and 9254 tail...
Fun machine
I recently crashed my R30v2 so am flying the V1 with has all basic servos and i'll just say the difference between R30/R50 9001's is huge
Go for it, i also bought from inwoods, very helpfull there and great prices

Radio brand
Stick to your radio brand this way if you have some sort of rx or tx failure due to workmanship Futaba won't point to JR or Hitec pointing to Futaba, etc. I fly 100% Futaba for this very reason in all of my planes and my helicopter.

mixing brands
In the uk i couldn`t see jr or futaba paying up for my heli if one of their servo`s went down in it, i would be lucky to get a new servo out of them.

I've never had it happen but if that servo was on it's first flight and it cost $80-$120 and my heli crashed because of it I would raise some SERIOUS @#$%^&.

I would HIGHLY suggest Futaba 3010 - they are cheap at about $25 and they have plenty of power / speed for a 50 - I run them on my EVO with GREAT results
