Searching is a Basic tool, you should know how to use it.

You are right, but knowing what keywords to use takes alittle more experience.

Looks like you are pissing off multiple people with your search comments.
At times people need to do a search before they post (put your cursor of Create New Topic) instead of asking a repetitive question. so why not add me to your Ignore list?
Yes and not everytime people have the exact words to search from. So why dont you use some of your bountyfull info on here and acutally help people out next time?
this is just an INTERNET forum for Heavens sake just follow Mark Ryders rules
"Troll" posts are not allowed by the rules. Everytime you post something, it states that in the rules.

http://www.runryder.com/t107721p1/

Taken from the Troll Explaniation. "One way to become known as a troll is to regularly post short comment replies (junk) that on average contains no relevant content"

7 pages worth of results that have your name in it and Do a search is being a troll.

You are a troll, plain and simple, and are gulity of not following the rules. Dont try and throw the rules in my face.

Yeah, we see a thread bumped to the top thinking someone has an angle on the subject and all we find instead is a "Do a search". Bah.
Any of us morons could have posted that, and no we didn't forget about it.

I have never posted a "Do a search". But I have done searches myself and posted the results to help people along toward an answer, and they know I don't just pull all those links out of my hat.

If you do not like what I post then put me on IGNORE

If you do not like what I post but do not put me on IGNORE please post more fuel for the fire.

Call me names

Someone in another thread wanted to know what I look like (I hope it was not a guy)

This is good fun on the internet!

Someone in another thread wanted to know what I look like
He probably just wanted to recognize you in person so he could sucker punch you in the gut and tell you to "Do a search" on that.

And your search would return a warning that he was going to do that.

But you wouldn't have known specifically what to search for if he hadn't "told" you.

Next time you post a "Do a search", maybe try being specific about what they need to search for or just leave it to those of us who actually are interested in the topic and helping people and will give specifics on what they need to search for ourselves.

Like I said before, the rest of us repliers know about the search feature too.
We're not all morons who need you to remind us every 5 minutes.

Now if the entire community ends up with you on ignore then what's the point of you even bothering to post at all? Just quit trolling already. Doesn't having a thread specifically dedicated to flaming you and your kind say enough?
I'd crawl under a rock with Foo.

Capt Chaos has some good advise.
One recurring theme I see on other boards regarding RR, is some newbies have stated that they are AFRAID to ask a question here, because they will be reprimanded by someone saying "DO A SEARCH"

In the interest of helping the new people out, and not intimidating them (remember what it was like to be a newbie)
I would just suggest you grin and bear it, and not jump down their throats.

How about the "Create New Topic" link button first takes everyone to a quick little tutorial and another "Create New Topic" link button.
A buffer screen for people to think twice.

But still try to understand that not everyone is as good at searching as others they could call upon for help. Some key words elude them, etcetera.

And that would be the extent of the beginner's section.
Maybe with the exception of "It's all been said before" - "Do a search".

What are they supposed to be searching for again? Oh yeah, all the things that anyone was ever told to "Do a search" about!
