My problen is not with telling someone to do a search, my problem is with the way it portrayed "Do a search! ". The person this is said to may not be aware that JB or anyone else is tired of hearing the samo samo.. It is probably very new to them, hell, they may even think they thought of it first. Directing them to the search button and giving them a few sample search queries to use ( we all know the search button here has mixed results depending on what you type)would be a better option. If you see a sr heliman, or a vet, continually asking questions they need to be search slapped, but the number of times it occurs to an under 10 post newbie is ludicrous (said in my best Tyson voice). If someone has to do thier homework to be worth "your" time, maybe "you" should have to do some homework to ensure "they" aren't worth your time! I guess the short of what I just took the long road around saying is; It's not always what you say, its how you say it! And that damn rolleyes behind everyone of them DO A SEARCH POSTS, is stupid especially when I look up and see the person joined not 10 minutes ago.

I also agree with Robroy above.. If "do a search" is all you have to offer keep your trap shut lol.. That is trolling like a mofo. That is not participating in any way.

BTW straight from the troll topic started on here long ago.
One way to become known as a troll is to regularly post short comment replies (junk) that on average contains no relevant content. This site is about sharing your hobby experiences.

Even in Off Topics, replies need to contain some relevant or coherent dialog. Remember that many members see every post via the “Start Here” or “View New” links and become annoyed with throwaway posts.
So who is more annoying? The person that may be new and not know any better? Or the person who consistently just trolls? My vote is the latter!

One more thing.

Ironic as it is . . or not . . . but this subject itself has come up many, many times.

So in the words of the man himself . . . DO A SEARCH!!

I consider myself a newb still and have been victim to jb's "Do a search" comments. I will do a search and then sometimes post asking the same question to get peoples updated opinions, thoughts or solutions, because the thread appears outdated.

If posters updated their previous posts to reflect new changes, searches will prove more effective. For example; How the fix held up after a few flights or whether it did in fact work or maybe they thought they had a fix, but long after the post has been online, they switched back to the stock way.

If someone does post a much beaten death topic I usually just do a quick search and post a link or two to help. When you do that, the keywords appear in big red letters and that may help them in the future.

Even if somebody does post the "Do a search" response, there is always someone that will post something helpfull afterwards.

Just a funny note.

I did a search for jb_turner and "do a search"

I came up with 7 pages of replies, not 7 posts, 7 pages of replies...

he really must like that phrase.

DO A SEARCH!!
I cant tell you how many times i've seen this topic
Maybe if you would have done a search for it, you would have seen that this has been posted before...justkidding

Yup, i hate it when people do that, because i too was a "noob" and still am, just with a sweeter heli..but when i would post something, I wanted an answer..not to be rude or anything, but I didn't know what i was looking at and when they would say do a search for this, a million things would pop up, so I had no clue what to look for, so i agree, quit whining about the search and not search, it really saves alot of unneeded frustration just to answer the post as the poster wrote it, not by telling them to do a search...

Yea, I see you know everything but can see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch????

For those that insist on telling the uninformed to SEARCH, if helping a noob is such a bother, don't post a dang thing. Leave RunRyder and don't bother any of us with your negativity. Do a search for the meaning of community.

Do a search for the meaning of community.
That is so true. Its hard enough to make it in the Heli comunity as it is. You have people telling you are crazy for haveing so much money in helis. At least here we understand each other and can support each other, because god know noone else does. If someone has a question, it is important to THEM. Who cares how you feel about it, its there question. If you choose to answer, at least give them an answer they can use. I would hate to see RR become a place of OLD PLANKERS(close mined old fogies). Ok so which gyro is better has been discused a million times, the person asking it is undecided and calling on the RR gods for help(god knows I have a few times). So help them RR gods. Share your knowledge, and you might even learn something yourself. Personally, I find almost as much pleasure in helping someone fly as I do in flying myself.

All I want to know is the answer to these two questions:

1.) Which is better...Raptor or Evo?

2.) What size main blades can I use on my Hirobo X-Spec without hitting the tail blades?

I agree with Superman22 "DO A SEARCH" (really because this has been covered before)

Grant H,

"It is quite a turn off to see such people posting multiple times a day for people to do a search."

At times people need to do a search before they post (put your cursor on "Create New Topic" ) instead of asking a repetitive question. So why dont you add me to your IGNORE list?

30V2,

"instead of saying "do a search" just ignore the post!"

Just ignore the postER.

Some people get so twisted over comments made on RunRyder.. this is just an INTERNET forum for Heavens sake just follow Mark Ryders rules.... and dont get all twisted at mere words on the screen and have an aneurysm!...sheesh...

#1-EVO
#2-depends on the tail rotor blades.
