Jim

Thanks for the comments.
Good to hear you liked the poster. Looking forward to seeing you there, for sure.

I was surprised to find the co-ordinates for the field are on "Google Earth". 49 52'46.10"N, 119 20'24.26"W. You can actually see a few cars in the parking lot. Have a look!

Kelowna Heli funfly
This event is shaping up even at this early stage to be a beaut.
For those who've never visited Kelowna or KORC's Emeny field take the short hop to http://www.korc.ca and look through the "Past Events" section or visit the Kelowna links within the original post above.

Apart from the RC angle to such a visit Kelowna happens to be set amongst vinyards and orchards within the stunning Okanagan valley making it an idyllic setting for a vacation. Kelowna is the largest shopping centre between Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver Kelowna's Malls, stores, lakeside attractions, winery visits all within 15 minutes of the flying field make it a great vacation spot for the ladies too.

With an average of 2000 hrs sunshine per year and sand beaches by an 80 mile long lake Kelowna is often referred to as the "California of Canada." Kelowna has been western Canada's best kept secret for many years, its a superb venue for a family holiday, what better vacation could a serious heli flyer want.

Come fly with us Aug 5&6 2006

K.O.R.C. Helicopter Extraveganza Update
We've recently managed to secure some post BBQ musical entertainment for the Heli Extraveganza's Saturday evening. Recording artists Sharon Reid and the multi-talented Lavern Panich (Denim Country) will perform. Everyone welcome, for a fun evening bring the family and your lawn chairs.

Only 2 weeks to git yer "chit" together. Come on down anyway and meet everyone. There's always lots of stuff to learn when heli pilots get together.

People are coming in from different parts of BC and Alberta. There will be a number of factory reps on hand for those who need set-up help.

The local heli pilot population has more than doubled since last year!

We're looking forward to a great turnout.

So come on down, have some fun.

Try to make the event if at all possible, there will be a number of experienced pilots here. We'll have more Heli help and tips available in Kelowna during this event then at any other time during the year.

You are welcome to come down another weekend for set-up help but once again I would highly recommend attending the funfly. We don't have a lot of heli only events in BC. Consider this as an opportunity to learn as much as you can about heli's with a group of like minded people.

Greg

Good to hear from you! Yes I'll have my AP rig out and would love to talk shop. I have more than a few questions for you. You've done some very cool AP design and fabrication work. Hope you're bringing your AP gear?

Better plan for it to be 40c,could very well be the case.
the beach is a twenty minute drive from the field.if thats any consulation
it will be my first FF attendance in B.C. (grr more driving...)
your driving in the right direction my friend.you will notice a signifigant reduction in the amount of insects that want to eat you,as you come.

This is true.a greater than average amount of spring moisture has made for a green and floral year for the region.the coldstream valley is a spectacle of beauty right now!
third cut,for you flatlanders.
Its looking like our heli event will see record attendance this year.In the past it has been a wealth of information, and general r/c heli experience.I'm looking forward to a major event this year..................Thanks Vince, maybe you could grace us with your presence this year?and thank-you Rob for carrying the torch.

Update
Following several enquiries about Early Bird access to our field...I intend to be available at Emeny field all day on friday 4th Aug so early campers will be most welcome.

On another issue... I'm sorry to have to announce that due to an unforseen contractual problem our planned musical entertainment on saturday evening has now been cancelled. My profound apologies for this. The BBQ will however still take place, as planned.

Regards
Rob Stearns.

One week to go!

The long range forcast calls for temperatures in the 22-32C or 71-89F range over the next 10 days.

Jim:
Vince S. will be joining us this year.

Our local Shaw TV, is promoting the event a few days prior to the weekend, not yet sure of the dates they will be airing.

We will bave food and beverages available.

Lester's Hobbies will be on site with hobby supplies.

Leisure Tech is bringing in a few Century Field Reps from different parts of Western Canada.

If you have any questions regarding the event, now would be a good time to ask.

Let us know if you can, if you will be attending.

Thanks,

Mark G.
