Getting ready to order my new Evo 90 and started looking around at gyros. Can anyone provide a short run-down of the differences between the 611 and 720.

Also, what tail servo is best to use with the 720 and does anyone know of any US resellers. I have checked mta, zooms, hp, ricks and ECE without luck of finding a 720.

Order the CSM 720 from Len Sabato at

You can use just about anything with the CSM 720, including the Futaba 9251, 9253/54. Also, the JR 810 and 8700, and the Airtronics 94758 etc. The gyro is fully programmable for all servo pulse widths.

The gyros are very different but are both equally impressive. Both need very little set-up, but the CSM is much more adaptable. I don't believe you could tell much of a difference between them unless you are really good!

I am flying with the CSM 560 micro with version 4 firmware. It is plug and play (which the old version 3 firmware was not). It is an outstanding gyro and I can't tell the difference between it and a 601.

i've not tried a 611 but i have got a couple of 720's.

i have tried a 9251 and an 8700g with it and without doubt the 8700g feels better with it for some reason. i can't explain why or attempt to know why, but it does.

the reason i changed to the CSM was becuase of more servo options and i wanted to lose the 601 amps.

the only problem you might have with the 720 is with the mouting method. thats where most of the chat about it lies just now. i just followed the CSM instuctions on what foam pads to use and it's fine. i could mess with it and get more gain but it holds perfectly as it is so why mess with it.

btw, the 560 is not even a patch on the 720 imo. if you think the 560 is good wait till you try a 720.

setting it up is an absolute doddle. plug it into your PC, pick what servo you have from the list and your set. if anything it's easier to setup than a 601, which says a lot.
