Hi all,

I just own a dragonfly
http://www.dkgoodman.com/dragonfly.html

It was all well until my kid play around with the 8 dip switches on the transmitter. After that, the main motor/rotor will run non-stop as soon as I connect the power on the body (there's no on/off switch for this model).

There's no way to stop the main motor except to disconnec the power cable.

I've tried in vain to set the dip switches on the transmitter to the original position (and other positions) - it doesn't help with any combination - I think it's NOT related to the transmitter dip switches anymore, since the motor keeps going even when I turn off (took out batteries) from the transmitter.

Is there a way to fix this on the receiver? Reset it or somthing? It's a 4-ch FM 72mhz WALKERA receiver. I think something when wrong somewhere it could not even be due to the dip switches on the transmitter?

What trouble shooting steps can I take from here?

I've since dis-engage the main blades from the motor for trouble shooting. Again, whenever I connect the power source, the motor just runs.... no way to stop it?

Thanks guys
Hans

From the instructions on the link you posted...
The DIP switches should all be set to Off (left) except for 1, 3 and 4. (Note that this corresponds to the Inverted setting in the Control setup in the simulator. The switch settings are the same for both Mode 1 and Mode 2.)
Sounds pretty straightforward from here in Iowa.

Set all switches to the LEFT, then set switch 1, 3, and 4 to the RIGHT.

Are your transmitter batteries dead? Is your transmitter dead?

After re-reading your post and a bit of searching, it appears that the problem you have is not as straightforward as it first appeared. The link you posted seems to have instructions for some generic versions of the Dragonfly...

Can you be a bit more specific as to which model number/version that you actually have?

I found a site with settings for the various switches in different Walkera versions, but they all seem to list 10 DIP switches, not eight as that one link you posted calls out.

You also say there are eight switches. ONE of those switches controls the reversing of the throttle channel. It's function should be independent of the remaining seven switches. So, I guess you should not the current position of the 8 individual switches, then one-at-a-time, change them (with the throttle all the way off in the TX). Then plug in the heli battery to see if you've fixed the problem. If not, unplug the battery, put that switch back where it was, then flip the next one down. Plug the RX back in and see what happens, again with the TX throttle stick at low. One of those eight switches should fix the throttle problem.

But, since the other 7 are in some random order, there may be other functions on the heli that need to be fixed as well.

More searching out on the web and some reading through the Walkera forum...

You must have a "model 4" dragonfly, since it has eight switches.

The switch positions as described by the link in your first post is right. All OFF, except 1,3, and 4. Switches 5 - 8 don't appear to do anything.

Also -- Is there a MODE switch on the transmitter, top right? If so, set it to "N", otherwise the motor will run all the time. If not set to "N", the mode switch gives you a "3D" motor mode in which you're at full power no matter where the stick is.

And...

a manual for your Walkera #4:

if that's not enough, here's the Walkera website:
