i am assembling the carbon frame upgrade for the logo 10... the servo mounts are not cut and drilled to fit any specific servos... the 14 has the mounts that can be purchased allready finished for the servos...

does anyone make these mounts for the 10 carbon pre cut and drilled?

I haven't seen any anywhere- It's a 5 minute job with a dremel and a cutoff wheel though...

Make sure you cut evenly from top/bottom left/right- otherwise things might not line up right when you go to put the populated plates into the frame. The holes have to be slightly oversize to account for the entry angle of the servos (unless you re-route the servo wire)

Some servos require stand-off (Hitecs) so that the bottoms don't touch the mast. I cut some aluminium sheet stock to fit, but 1/8" or 3/32" standoffs would be better.

The fun part is holding the locknuts with long pliers when you put the plates into the frame. Its easier to assemble them with the bolts on the inside and the nuts out so I could use a ball tipped hex driver to get a better angle. or better yet, put the servos in before you put the frame together...

Are there servos that are a "drop in"? I was about to post the same question becayse I am thinking of buying one at the end of the month.
Do the holes have to be drilled for the bolts that mount the servos to the plate?

sorry, THX1138, I don't frequent this forum much...

I haven't seen drop-in servos, but if there are any chances are they are multiplex polos which are the most popular type in europe.

Yes, mounting holes must also be drilled in addition to resizing the hole. screws and nuts are provided in the kit and are socket head M2.5, so drill accordingly. If you use the Hitec servos I mentioned above, you'll need longer screws.

If I've got to cut the mounts to fit a servo, I'm just gonna get the 9650's and roll with it. I'm pretty sure those are about the bech mark anyway. Thanks for all!
