Do any of you guys have a converted Caliber 30 to 50 and a Caliber 5 what are the differances? Is it worth buying another machine? Are any of the parts interchangeable?

Clayman,

There is about 40 percent compatability. The truth of the matter is you would be best served to get the Caliber 5 and if you choose to use the compatable parts in a crash then you could. The Cal 5 is redesigned to be a 3D machine from the start. The mixing ratios are better suited for aggressive 3D whereas the Cal 30 is better suited for mild 3D since is has a slower rolling rate.

Clayman,
Your blinged out "Correct" Calibers are pretty much as good as the 30 gets.
If memory serves me correctly, you had converted at least one to a 50???
If so, that heli flies pretty much like the Caliber 5.
The weight is pretty close.
One thing I noticed is that the tail kicks over much better in the 5.
I was using the stock 30 size tail boom with my 50 conversion.
Now I'm wishing I had switched to the long boom last year

For the $299 US for the kit, you may have good luck selling one of the 30's with some correct bling on it for that amount. Remember, you don't need the clutch, can't use the main gear, and may not be able to use the 50 tooth gear (I wasn't).
I used just the swashplate and fan in mine.
The rest is stock and flies VERY well so far
