i have some thunderpower 1320 cels, which i got just before the balance lead kind came out.
these are working fine and no problems, but i would like to balance them.what i would like to know is` are all 3s1p what ever make wired up the same for the balancer.i ask this because i have since gone over to using flight power cels and their balancer module.i have got some spare balancer leads which i can fit to the thunderpower cels, they can then be plugged into the flightpower module.would this work or is it going to be dangerous.my may of thinking is that cels are cels and the module can not tell what make they are, they are still the same voltage.my only concern is would the thunder power cels be ok using a 4pin/wire plug and if so what would be the correct configeration to the cels.any help or advice will be great.
my soldering skills are ok it`s just the technical part i am dim at.

I live a few miles from the TP factory. I spoke in person to a couple of the folks there about this. I had dropped off a couple of the older packs to be upgraded with a connector and was told that the older LiPo formula did not benefit much at all from balancing. The balancer connector was added to the new formula packs because they benefit considerably more from balancing as a result of the new design.

Even if they dont need them it sure is nice knowing whats going on with those cells

I did almost the opposite yesterday - I changed the balancing plugs on some 3S flightpower (with the old style plug) cells to TP balancing plugs. The plugs that I changed had the same wiring - just different plugs.

See if you can find some more info in one of these pages:
