Are you doing a lot of auto practice? The sudden off /on power transition if you get the auto wrong will cause the shoes to spin up in the clutch bell leading to excessive wear. This is applicable to all raptors 30/50/60 and especially the 90 due to the large amount of power you are trying to put through clutch assembly.

The brain is like a shelf,if you put something on one end, something else falls off the other end

Have you checked the clearance between the clutch shoes and the clutch liner ?
May find the clutch liner has worn and the shoes are now over stretched ?

I just have one problem - I bought one Rap and I think the guy was was always running the motor littlebit to fast at the idle.

So the clutch liner was very worn - I decided to replace the clutch bell - but could not fit the clutch shoes in - I noticed that the schoes are to streached out.

Can this be fixed ? (putting the clutch in a wrench?) or did I have to replace the clutch shoes as well ?

- benni

you can try to fix it but you most likly wont be successful, once a clutch is sprung its sprung and will drag if you dont replace it.

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

You would be able to bend the clutch shoes back in with your fingers, but as they have been bent too far, they are now over stretched.
May last a few flights (unlikely) if you are lucky, but it will not be long before the clutch will be grabbing at a low idle
Mas aswell change the clutch while the engine is out TBH

One of 2 things...
1) The liner has warn too thin so the shoes are beginning to fracture to to the extra stress.
2) Bad engine alignment. If the engine and clutch are not ligned up near perfect, then it will cause the shoes to bend up and down with each revolution. It's only a matter of time before the shoe fractures.

Yes this seems to be a pretty common problem and Guy offers the two main reasons. I've found that the QuickUK clutches are stronger and less prone to fracture. So, I'd be as careful about allignment and the liner AND, for my money, I'd put the QuickUK clutch on.

If you're talking about the 90, then the QuickUK clutch has a greater diameter than the TT clutch in order to give the correct clearance of 6 thou. For some stupid reason, TT got it all wrong, so that if you are using a TT clutch, then you need to install the liner with thin card between it and the bell.
