I know what happened. You exceeded the performance envelope of your aircraft and it failed. This has been discussed a lot, here is a quote from another post.....

quote from Gary Hoorn:

"Both the Blade and the XRB have been know to have blade clashes such as you experienced. This occurs especially with rapid full cyclic inputs at high RPM or speeds. They really are only gentle "house flyers" if the truth were told"

Good luck!

Fast Forward Flight is way out with the CX. I've noticed just cruising around slowly, if I make it stop suddenly the blades come dangerously close to colliding.

fast cyclic inputs, especially from forward to backwards at high speeds will cause clashes, and as you described shattering in mid-air. instead of trying to ram it backwards, why not just yaw and turn around. or just slowly release forward and it should return to hover pretty fast

yup, I saw the aftermath.......wow, what a tough little heli...it was flown off his second story, almost hit a pole, cut power to it and it fell for a whole story only breaking one landing gear. We continued to fly it outside w/o landing gear...he hit a tree with it...nothing happened...I left....started actual flying and I miss the real crash...

Yea, I see you know everything but can see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch????

Same thing happened to a guy at the flying field Sunday. Too much wind, too much fast backward flight...smack! blades touched.
