How does the Logo 10 perform on a NiMH pack or 4s lipo? I have a Swift now and everyone said you needed minimum of 6s to get 3D capabilities and NIMH was too heavy. I went with a 5s setup to try and save some money. It seems that NiMH and 4s are much more popular on the Logos. What type of performance can I expect using a 12-14 cell NiMH or a 4s lipo? I'm not into 3D yet but would like something with a power/weight ratio similar to a 30 nitro machine. I'm still at least a year from any 3D and will spend this year doing FFF, circuits, stall turns, rolls, etc...

Depends on the motor you've got. I have a hacker B50-14L motor, and 13 cells NiMH was barely adequate for rolling or doing loops. 13 cells NiCD was better but not by much. 4s LiPo will give slightly higher voltage than 13-14 cells but much higher capacity, so mild acrobatics should be OK. Once you get into the 5s or 6s setup you're likely to need the box to give the required reduction in gear ratio, but that's where the fun is. If you have the C50-13L motor which is very common, a 4s setup will be more spritely than mine and probably quite a nice setup for mild 3D.

Info on your motor is crucial here...

I'm open to all options on the motor. My Swift currently has a Hacker A30 but I have no problems replacing it if necessary.

Go with a high voltage setup, I use a 8S2P 4000 pack. Orbit 25-14 motor and a Schulze 32.40k esc. Excellent power and flight duration. You can see more pics in my gallery.

If you go with the Hacker C50-13L motor, this should be quite lively on a 4s setup, then you can move to a 6s setup later. Make sure whatever ESC you get can handle the higher voltages. The Kontronics Jazz 55-10-32 is probably the ideal ESC, I have a Hacker 77-O-Heli.

8s setup will be ballistic, but gets expensive on cells.
