I have two TRex helicopters. My TRex XL with 430 and aligh 35 ESC flies much longer than my other TRex. I fly the TRex XL for 15 minutes and have about 10.9V. The TRex XV2 flies for 11 minutes and the batteries are down to 10.9V and warm. The XL flies comparatively effortlessly.

The rotor blades are the same 315 woodies, head speed is approximately the same, gear mesh has just the slightest slop at the tight spots on the gear. I am using TP2100 batteries. Other things are different.

TRex XL 665g, Align 430, Align 35A esc, GWS receiver, HS55 & HS50 servos
TRex XV2 695g, Align 420, CC 35A, electron 6, GWS Naro servos

What items are most likely to make this big difference? I am having so much fun flying the XL that I hate to take it apart.

What flight times do you get?

My guess is the 30g difference in weight and the 420LF motor (very inefficient).

I saw my flying time increasing with several minutes when I blinged out my V2 so I'm guessing in addition to the weight difference the XL is smoother.
