Hello!

I need a covered range of 25-35 miles (40-55 km).
Power? 1-2 watts maybe. Band must be 2.4 GHz
Weight of the transmitter (including antennae) should not exceed 200 grams (that is about half a pound).

Price range should stay within 2000-3000 dollars. It may vary.

Please provide links.

Thank you,
Kristjan

Dont think you will find anything availible to civilians that meets your specs.

Then go with military frequency.
It won`t be for personal use.

Those frequencies are line of sight. Unless you have line of sight, you won't be able to do it with 100 watts. And then, you will need directional antennas, like microwave system antennas with parbolic reflectors of about 10' diameter. Not practical!

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

Hmm, I see.

But lets just say that I need 25-35 miles, weight 200 grams max and price range about 2000-3000 USD.

Whatever band.

Is it possible?

Sorry, I spent the majority of my working life in microwave communications, and it wouldn't be possible with $10,000.

Defanitly will cost multiple x 10's of thousands of dollars. Have you asked the Military yet?

I'm not sure your goal here but when we cover breaking news and they are taking a live feed to shoot back to the station we only use a 100 mill watts transmitter on the heli. 1 watt just seems to strong in that close and will over lay itself.

They then feed that signal into the live truck and shoot it back up to 40 miles via the tower on the truck and I believe the transmitter is 25watts? I'm not sure on that but its large and over heats from time to time. I know they had one burn up and it cost $65,000.00 to replace it.

This feed will even break sometimes using this equipment.

Hope that helps you.

Not sure if this is possible, or if the cell service is good enough for this application, but could you hook up you video gear to a device like a blackberry and use the cell service to transmit over the net like a webcam?

Is this for an autonomous bird, or a RC? If RC you need to make sure you can transmit that far to control your heli.

Yes autonomous.

2.4 GHz is not a requirement anymore.
The 25-35 mile range must stay. No linkig may be used. It has to be directly from the bird to the ground station.
Price may also double or triple.

I think you are beating a dead horse... For what you want and the price you are willing to pay it can not be done.

Output power is not all. The main link you provide shows a 40 km link using a high gain antena http://www.rf-links.com/news1.htm
Fortunately you have another option: http://www.runryder.com/t205989p1/
