Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
My Raptor 90’s throttle servo keeps cutting out my engine every 30 to 40 seconds after I start the engine, as if I were hitting the throttle cut switch.
The servo “Futaba S3001” only cycles to the off position when the engine is running.
I thought the problem was my fail safe settings, but they check good.
I have checked the battery, insured the servo is completely plugged in, and changed out the receiver thinking I may have a bad throttle channel, with no joy.
With the engine off the servo cycles fine and does not move to the throttle cut position, unless I tell it to. My next step is to change the throttle servo, but I don’t think this will fix the problem.

R90 current setup
Blades: Thunder Tiger Carbon 710mm Blades
Max pitch 9.5
Mid-stick 4.5
Low Stick -6
Head speed is 1750 RPM maintained a GV1 and power by an OS 91. CSPEC

Thanks

Try the servo, sounds like a vibration issue.

If you have one of those little etching tools, stick an eraser over the tip. Power up the reciever and turn the etcher on and hold the eraser to varios points on the servo to see if you can induce it to do it by vibration.

Sounds like a worn out pot in the servo being shown up by vibration from the engine running . Unless there is severe vibration with the engine running , I would just replace the servo and see what happens .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Yeah, since it's just the throttle servo (blazing speed and torque not required), you can go to the LHS and get a $10.00 Hobbico servo to try out.

Repaced the S3001
Hey thanks everyone for your input.
I have replaced the S3001 with a Futaba 3151.
As soon as it stops snowing I will FCF and post my findings.

Thanks Again

Bad Fan???
I have replaced the throttle servo but that did not fix the problem. I did not notice the problem earlier, but the throttle servo is not the only servo affected by the engine vibe.
I turned the power on and cycled all the controls and they seemed to work fine. Once I started the engine the new throttle servo cut the engine after a few seconds. So I restarted the engine and before the engine could cut out. I cycled the other controls “All 9252’s”, they seemed to move in slow motion while the engine was running. Once the throttle servo glitches and cut the engine every thing works fine. After tracing my maintenance log I noted that I had changed my engine fan before I started having theses problems.
My next step is to remove the fan and re-check the balance.
