Hey Guys

I've just got a Predator gasser with a Zenoah 260 Hanson engine.
I'm new to gassers and don't really have a clue about which oil to use and the mixture ratio. Im in the UK so I probably cant get the same oil as most of you in the states get. So can anybody in the UK recommend a decent oil to use and give me an idea of the mixture ratio.

Much appreciated.

Mark

castrol TTs
motul 600
bel ray full synthetic
go the the nearest bike shop and see what the local MX boys use, then stick it in at 40:1
I use TTs or yacco full synthetics.

Castrol TTS is a good oil available over here . From my personal , very limited knowledge of operating petrols , I would start at 33/1 but most people will say that is far too much oil .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

i would also stay on that ratio too........ 11 gallons so far without any problems and tons of power.

good luck.

Amsoil Sabre is great stuff also. I've been using my 231 at 80:1 with this stuff (AFTER running in with a much higher oil mix obviously!) and the engine is in almost new condition after 15+ hours. The oil burns very clean and seems to be keeping the internals in very good condition with honing marks still visible in the cylinder.

I too have a hanson carbon PG
I did a gallon of mineral based castrol 2 stroke oil then changed to the top synthetic 2 stroke oil silkoline (40:1) make and after 1 gallon the top of the piston is all carboned up and the plug is fouling as well...Dumped that mix and borrowed some amsoil 100:1 and running it at 80:1 with normal unleaded fuel and it's really good, plug is clean and the carbon is burning off.

you can get amsoil in the UK now, do a bit of searching on the www

I am planning to use amsoil after the first two gallons. I thought I would run it at 50:1 though. I think I am going to put 2.5oz per gallon. How many oz is 80:1 or maybe you guys don't do oz in UK.

We do but our gallons are bigger than yours , our pints are 20fl oz , but your fl oz are bigger than ours , thats where it gets confusing !

You would have to add 1.6 US floz to 1 US Gallon for 80/1 .
We would have to add 2 Imperial floz to 1 Imperail gallon for 80/1 .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Is that chart applicable for PUH engines running in a heli I wonder?

Good question. What makes a heli different than a high performance go-ped. These go-peds get the crap beaten out of them and don't have as much airflow as a heli. I think the RC versions of the Zenoa's have a great onboard air cooling design.
Maybe someone that has researched and tested oils can chime in.
