I shopped a lot at Dream Hobbies and still do at Gyro and Ultimate. I've been very vocal about supporting LHS's and will be that way for a long time to come.

Yeah, I have shopped Robs, Gyro and Ultimate for a while now with my T-Maxx and Electric boats. I stopped in at Rob's this morning to see what Trex parts he's got in. I was actually looking for the new blue main gear. Didn't have those in stock yet. As stated above, he's not personally into heli's... but wants to stock up on what people ask for. He says he can get stuff pretty much next day if you're looking for something. He made a note of the blue main gears and I'm sure he'll be stocking those by the end of the week.

His shop is right off the 22 on Garden Grove Blvd. Just east of the fwy and Knott/Goldenwest.
Address is:

Rob's R/C Hobbies
7441 Garden Grove Blvd.
Garden Grove, CA 92841
(714) 372-3777

I don't think they show any heli info on their site, however, it's at http://www.robsrchobbies.com

I can't say I could be anymore sorry to see any shop close down such as DreamHobbies. Steve made his biggest impression on me at the 2003 LA Classic when he and his wife gave out popsicles. It was so hot and that was just the best thing.

This isn't the death of Steve I am looking forward to flying with him more and helping him in any future ventures he explores in anyway I can. If Good people had only one name it would be Steve with the efforts and kind hands this man has given his customers and friends. Thank you for your service to all of us Steve.

I just found Steve and Dream Hobbies a month ago. He is a very friendly, nice guy to deal with and I hope all goes well with his future endeavors.

Sorry to hear the shop closed the way it did and left the employees wondering whats next but maybe you guys could work at Ultimate.

Frank and Nick, Deves is right, you guys might want to try Ultimate. From what I understand, they don't have a knowledgable heli guy there that actually flies. You should go and talk to Cliff.

Sorry to hear that you lost your jobs. I'm sure you guys won't have trouble finding another.

Frank PM me.

You guys should check out Assurance RC located in Santa Fe Springs. They are a distributor for Align. They have just about every part you can think of for the T-rex.

Ultimate sucks! They don't have anyone who actually flies helis anymore. Their knowledge is very limited. Unless I know for sure what I want and they have it I will not go back there.

MTA is also stocking TREX stuff and they have been very good to me. It is a bit of a drive or they can ship it to OC in one day.

Great work Bob! Rob is a worthy individual who deserves our suport. I like to support all the local shops, but what really pulls me to Rob's is his personality. The guy is a lot like Steve, hard working conscientious, and makes the customer feel important. I spent some $$$ recently at Gyro and although it's a well stocked store, just not the same attitude/assistance from the employees. In fact when I had advised them of Dream closing down the guy behind the counter said and entusiastic "great!", In contrast, Rob's response was "I'm so sorry to hear that, I hear Steve was a nice guy and ran a great shop". Just gives you an idea of the different mind set. Ultimate is great for the car guys, but lacks severely in customer service for Align stuff. Although Rob's shop is small the service is large. He will special order anything you ask for and stock it in his shop. And from what I could tell his pricing was very fair. Just my 3 cents worth.....

where is Rob's shop? and what is the name of it. I was at dream hobbies 2 weeks ago, i had no idea, it was nice to go physically get stuff instead of mail order.

and unrelated topic, i don't like hobby people stores, they make me feel like i am retarded. And they argue with me.
